Publisher's summary

When unspeakable tragedy leaves young Eli an orphan, two families are devastated. But Taylor, Eli’s aunt and legal guardian, vows to help him remember his parents by creating a Memory Quilt. As she begins piecing together the moments of his parents' lives, the story of the young family emerges and Taylor and Eli begin to heal. But Eli’s uncle Reece is slow to let go of the past and still blames Taylor’s brother for his sister’s death. So, although he has long been attracted to Taylor, Reece keeps a safe distance away. Can their shared love for Eli pave the way to forgiveness or will Taylor and Reece be separated by pain?

Cute

Cute story! Though I love stories that glorify God, this one just felt kind of superficial. But after reading the Shack and other ones that are deep, it's hard to compare. This might be the last of the quilt series that I will read, for I didn't enjoy these last 2 books. But maybe these are written for others that are beginning to learn of Christ, or this might be a gateway to such. Nevertheless it was a cute book, and it showcases how important forgiveness, empathy, and making the best out of a sticky situation is. :)

Jenny's review

This was a great experience to be able to have a story read to me and be able to listen even at night. Loree Lough did a great job as always! Taylor was a wonderful heroine to get to know with her amazing heart for others and you come to understand why her sister in law chooses her for Eli. Reese on the other hand is furious with his sister for this very reason even though Taylor extends an olive branch to him. Things start to change Reese's mind about Taylor after he has started taking notice of her thoughtful gestures and that awakens his own heart. Will they see that they can work better as a team as Eli draws them ever closer together!

Great book

This was a warm & beautiful book. It showed the Love of an aunt & uncle for one adorable 4 year old who talked like a 20 year old but was incredibly resilient to what life had sent his way. This is one I will read more than once.

Really Enjoyed until the end...

This will likely be a book I'd listen to again and I don't say that about too many. However, the ending was too quick. It's like you're just getting to the good part and the author had to meet deadline so you get this short version of what happened. This narrator is really good as well. I'll be looking for more books by this author because there was a really good story here without being too syrupy. I just hope any other books don't end as abruptly.

Rushed the end ….

Really would have enjoyed more of the relationship building for Taylor & Reece … jumped right over it to epilogue … to much loss that could have been skipped intead🥲

One of the best in the series

I could have gone for a few
More details about the ending which was a bit abrupt, but overall it was very good and the narrator was excellent!

Christian book. Ok story but lots of flaws

The story was cute but geez I wish the genre would have been correct. This is not a Romance novel...romance has courting and romantic or at least flirty dialog. kissing (at least a kiss scene) and maybe a marriage proposal and wedding ceremony. There is none of that! Instead the novel skips past all the romance to an epilog that jumps to 3 years later when it's all done and they are already deep into the HEA... No, this is definitely a Christian novel, straight up all about Christain faith and not just spirituality. That's fine but I should be given the choice of whether I want to read that type of book. I like wholesome clean romance and more explicit romance equally but given I have strong spiritual beliefs of my own I don't appreciate being hood winked to listen to someone else's interpretation of faith.

In addition, there were odd inaccuracies. Like the fact that a 4 year old does not attend school in America. Aside from preschool or genius classes they certainly are not reading and writing at that age. At least not enough to write a paper anout where they want to go but never have gone... lol ridiculous! Also navigating to read street signs, maps - whole batman this kid & his peers are Einsteins. At 1st I thought Perhaps this is not an American novel and is based a foreign country that has a different education system. However, the singing star drives 30 hours from LA which eould put them in the middle or east of the country soooo I'm guessing the writer just didn't bother to do research. Everytime the child age is mention, which is often, it would throw me off the story because ot didn't make sense.

Then the weird story that Reeces parent had left him in charge at 11 year old as they went to Africa to work as missionaries... where he had to work p.t. jobs to payrent and feed he and his little sisyer...at 11! WHAT??? Lol you can't before real ... What alternate universe is this writer living in?

Finally there were a few errors not caught by editing. A incorrect ref to literature and a few times the speaker used a character's name wrong, example mistaking Taylor's husband for Elliott instead of Mark... that was confusing.

All this added up as rather unprofessional and made for a very frustrating read.

Love at it’s Best

Great story of love overcoming ready! character development was good. Sometimes the four year old was a bit more mature than the four year olds I know, but overall a great read. I really enjoyed this book.

Sweet Historical Romance

There are touches of faith and prayer as well as comments of cynicism and doubt in an Almighty God. I wish we could have witnessed his acceptance and faith restored.

Sweet young Eli at the tender age of four lost more people in his life than most of us have in our long lives.

But there is a brighter future ahead, and God is a God of restoration and healing! Especially healing of the heart!

The narration was very good, although there were just a few times the voices didn't change when the people speaking did. I loved her variation of the different characters though!
