Publisher's summary

Locryn Barnes knows what it means to be a fixer for Torus Intercession. Torus is the place that people in need turn to for everything from bodyguards to chaperones, and God knows Loc is the kind of man who'd rather play human shield against a bullet than spend even a moment of his life as a glorified babysitter. Which is why he tells a prospective client, in no uncertain terms, that he's not the right fixer for the job when Torus is tapped to play what amounts to a life coach for a spoiled, burned out, fresh-out-of-rehab rock star.

Nick Madison has been living on the edge since he was 17. Now, at 26, aimless and on the verge of losing everything, he can't seem to give a damn. When he wakes up one afternoon, hungover and strung out, to find a stranger in his house ordering everyone around like he owns the place, Nick is sure he's woken up in his own little corner of purgatory. Nick is determined to prove he doesn't need anyone's help, least of all from the walking, talking definition of infuriating.

Nick has met every challenge and is finally ready to spread his wings and fly, but not alone, which means another daunting challenge to face. Now, Nick needs to convince the fixer that the rock star is his happily-ever-after. Which could prove to be Nick's biggest challenge yet.

enjoyed it - solid 4.5 stars

📖 Story comment: good pace, likeable characters, entertaining story.
I'm enjoying the concept behind a company of "fixers" and will continue with the rest of the series. I enjoyed Fix It Up, Loc was an interesting character and I liked watching Nic evolve.

🎧 Narrator comment: *** sigh, I was so happy to find Tristan James narrating this title *** Tristan James can be a narrator you either enjoy or don't. Personally I love him, I go through phases where he's just what I need in a narrator. I find his tones soothing, he has good timing and inflections and he brings these characters to life. I enjoyed his performance of this title and will happily listen to it again.

Good story. Good narration.

Once again, Mary Calmes has created another sweet romance with a dash of action and endearing characters.

This entry in the Torus series focuses on Locryn. We get a chance to see the warm fuzzy side of Locryn's character, and we get to see what happens when he feels compelled to use that part of himself on the job. Yes, there is some angst and a bit of chaos.

This was a fun story with a good narrator, and it made a great addition to the Torus series.

Out of all the books so far in this series.

This one made me tear up several times Lock with all his anger issues is tasked to rescue a singer song writer from himself. In the process he learns a little more about himself that he didn’t know existed. These two are clueless in the beginning but the slow burn between the two of them is just hot. Good story.

5 out of 5

I have enjoyed the whole Torus Intercession series, but Loc is my favorite. The book was great, but I must say that Tristan James brought a new dimension to the story that I totally enjoyed. The story is well written and even the secondary characters have depth - it’s the best kind of story to read as it has an engaging plot and, of course, an HEA. I loved it.

Loved it

Great story. Laughed out load and yelled at the MC for being so thick headed. Locryn is now my favorite character.

Tall Dark Handsome & Worthwhile

What I'm most shocked about here is that Lock was not what I expected. he was so much more. as was the rock star. Mary Calmes' charactors are always a delight and I adore Tristan James. He could reas me the damn phone book.

delightful

I've loved this entire series and this one is certainly up to par! I think the relationship between the two of them ended up being really healthy. When I first read the summary I was a little bit concerned because an addict should never date their sponsor and that's the vibe I initially got. But in the end, the transition from 'fixer' to boyfriend, I felt, was very healthy and didn't rub wrong. I loved the level of communication and openness between pretty much everyone, But especially the main characters. That's not to say they didn't argue, (they were at each other's throats throughout the healing process) but once they settled into a dynamic, when there was a disagreement they talked about it and didn't let anything fester. I love to see that in any relationship, and reading about it makes my heart happy! This is low angst (between the couple) with twists and turns of family and outside forces that they navigated both separately and together. I loved Tristan James's take on these characters, because Loc is supposed to be very level-headed, And throughout the book Tristan James gave a very steady feel to this character. I thought he was a great choice because he never over exaggerated voices which made them feel more real to me. The way this book is written it could have easily been overdone with how many characters there are, and the slight variations he did, I felt, made it more grounded. With The topics discussed in this book and some of the crazy situations that are addressed, it could have easily become chaos and I think Tristan James did a great job at ensuring it never did even in the middle of a giant Rockstar sized party, You always got the sense that Loc could handle it and would never get overwhelmed, which was crucial for the success of this story. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would absolutely recommend it! Thank you Tristan James and Mary Calmes for giving me a few hours of wonderful escape from real life!
