She’s the Alpha quarterback with the weight of her pack on her shoulders. The new star linebacker is a rogue wolf who bows to no one. A single, brutal tackle is about to make them fated rivals… and fated mates.

Jordan “J.D.” Davis lives by one rule: control. As the Alpha of the Oakhaven Titans and the star quarterback, it’s her job to protect her pack, honor her father's legacy, and lead her team to victory. But a shadowy predator is stalking her territory, and her own brother is spiraling into a darkness she can't control. The last thing she needs is a defiant, infuriatingly skilled linebacker who challenges her at every turn.

Rylee Weston has one goal: stay free. After escaping a tyrannical Alpha and a concrete cell, she knows that power is a cage. She’s at Oakhaven to play football, get noticed by the pros, and never, ever let another Alpha sink their claws into her. But when she lays a devastating hit on the team’s untouchable quarterback, her wolf screams a single, traitorous word: Mine.

When a bitter on-field rivalry forces them into close quarters, every shared practice and heated argument ignites a fire they can't contain. The pull of the fated mate bond is as undeniable as it is dangerous. Jordan sees a rogue who threatens her pack's stability; Rylee sees a jailer who reminds her of the monster she fled.

But as an ancient curse awakens and threatens to tear their world apart from the inside out, they face a choice: trust their enemy or watch everything they’re fighting for burn. To survive, the quarterback and the linebacker will have to learn to run the same play.

Can two rival Alphas lower their shields to save their pack, or will their war leave them vulnerable to the monster that wants to devour them both?

First Down & Fated is a full-length standalone novel packed with scorching tension, high-stakes football, and a hard-earned happily ever after. It’s perfect for fans of Ilona Andrews, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and anyone who loves their romantasy with a side of gridiron grit.

There was absolutely no flow, lacked transitions from scene to scene, and had a lot of errors that pulled away from the story.
it was really hard to get through the book due to the sparitic scene changes. Just using chapter 2 as an example. The first 6 paragraphs Rylee is exercises on an abandoned parking lot, then all of a sudden she's in the film room with the team, and before you can figure out how you got there you're pulled into her dorm room in paragraph 15.
Aside from that, I didn't get the actual direction of the story, it was ALL over the place and too much repetition of the same thing. Like we get it, she smells like pine and storm. There wasn't really any resolution either. Does Rylee's old alpha come for her? Does the Blight come back now that it's supposedly stronger? Is Jordan's pack only students? Why didn't Rylee or Jordan shift at any time during the story?
One last thing, the tilte is misleading. "Steamy"? more like "Boring". There is absolutely no spice between to two characters. Except for the writer actually pointing out the fated bond (several times) I wouldn't see them as a couple. The chemistry was nonexistent.
