Excellent all the way around

The story kept my interest from start to finish. The language was clean and the morals were well-established you had ample bad guys and villains to deal with, but good always wins out. Narrator was excellent. Will definitely listen to more from this writer

Unexpected pleasure

Lisa Wingate has written another winner that keeps readers engaged from the first sentence to the last. While this love-at-first sight offering might seem a bit cliche at the onset, Lisa's characters are wound together in such a way as to present a depth not often found in such novels.

Whether you're familiar with the Moses Lake series or not, this story is a highly entertaining read that can't be missed.

LOVED THE STORY....but....

This was an excellent story, but it was very wordy! It's hard to explain, but there were parts that were very slow due to the fluff in thoughts and description of things. It was certainly inspirational but I don't think it was overdone in that department. Had there been an ounce more however, it would have ended the book for me. I just think that Lisa Wingate needs to add more suspense/action to her stories OR condense the hours of narration.

As for Meredith Orlow, I enjoyed her narration talents. One of my pet peeves is when narrators do a child's voice. So many do a terrible job of reflecting age of children but IMO Meredith Orlow does an extraordinary job in this story.

With all of that being said, I would still spend a credit on this book.

Disappointing

This was a very difficult book to get through. The main characters were not people most would like at the onset. Both were selfish and self centered and a building to root for them was non existent. It took FOREVER to get to any kind of mystery. All of which came to a conclusion within the last hour of the book. I liked the other Mosses lake books but this was not my favorite. Mostly due to the characters.

Just OK

The author spends more than half the book discussing the main characters new marriage and the last few pages on what’s going on on ‘firefly island’. The book does not seem well balanced at all. Too much info in some areas and no where near enough in others.

Intriguing

A good book about adjusting to marriage life. A bit of romance and mystery. Loved reading it from beginning to end.
