Excellent all the way around

The story kept my interest from start to finish. The language was clean and the morals were well-established you had ample bad guys and villains to deal with, but good always wins out. Narrator was excellent. Will definitely listen to more from this writer

Unexpected pleasure

Lisa Wingate has written another winner that keeps readers engaged from the first sentence to the last. While this love-at-first sight offering might seem a bit cliche at the onset, Lisa's characters are wound together in such a way as to present a depth not often found in such novels.

Whether you're familiar with the Moses Lake series or not, this story is a highly entertaining read that can't be missed.

I love her books

However this book is not one of my favorites. It was long, drawn out and she left a lot of things inside the original story in unanswered . But with that.... I do have to say I loved this series!

Good story

I enjoyed this book and the narration of it. I liked the caring, introspective qualities of the main character, her strength and perseverance. I loved her insightful blogs and her description of her love for her husband. I also appreciate how Ms Wingate shows the good and bad qualities of her characters and almost always brings some form of character development in at least one of her characters. Much more like real life. At the end of this book Ms Wingate didn’t make everything nice and tidy. People rarely pull it all together and get everything right. It’s real life. The narrator was easy to listen to and I liked her interpretation of the characters EXCEPT the voice of Nick, the 3 1/2 year old boy. That was pretty dreadful. This book wasn’t as intense as some of Ms Wingate’s books, but still deep, wholesome and honest.

Too much minutiae

Lisa Wingate’s books aren’t bad, but after reading them and especially the last two, I need a break!! She has a very hard time sticking to the point, continually going off topic with dreams and thoughts that verge on ruining the story itself. The books are just a bit too smarmy for real life. I know it’s escape, but come on!! After reading her first book “Before We Were Yours”, which was a good read, I thought why not read more, but the books keep getting sappier and less believable... IMO
