Claudia and Heath

It is always bittersweet to end a series, Fire Maidens Switzerland is no exception. In this journey, it begins with a slightly unusual beginning where Claudia is fully aware of her role as a Fire Maiden. When you have a level of expectations laid on your shoulders, it is difficult to let go. Heath is her newest bodyguard and is having difficulties reigning her in. Claudia listens to no one, but Heath is up for the challenge as her life depends on it.

What a great ending to the series by bribing all the Fire Maidens together! I look forward to see what else Anna will be doing in the future. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Fire Maidens Switzerland provided by the author.

AUDIBLE Nothing to do with the author or the great story and characters but I found it hard to disappear into the story as I usually do. When I did focus in, I enjoyed listening. I am putting my lack of focus down to what is happening outside my door at the moment. The tv is full of both the floods here in Australia which has affected family members and the war abroad. I know I will listen to this series again and will immerse myself totally as usual. BOOK REVIEW Bittersweet read as this is the last book of this series. Unless we are very lucky and the author treats us to another destination, or a get together book of all the Fire Maidens doing their thing. I just loved this emotionally packed story and cried when I finished. Once again Ms Lowe has written a book that just pulled me in and took me to a faraway place. One I have been lucky to visit. Brooding and quiet Heathcliff finally gets the HEA and what a wonderfully match she was. Putting him through his paces and giving him one hell of a run around at first. Claudia is the Swiss Fire Maiden we have heard about. The apparently snotty and snobbish woman who wouldn’t put herself out. She is a far cry from that. A bit of a complainer and manipulator but only due to being kept in a gilded cage from birth. All the other Fire Maidens have had their surprise Fire Maiden history sprung on them but Claudia has known since birth who and what she was, with little allowance for her feelings or wishes. Now, she is not trapped in an Ivory tower, or abused, in fact she is much loved and cared for. But she has not really been allowed to be a true Fire Maiden and all that entails. In this story, Heath learns to love again and wasn’t that a bittersweet story about his mother. And Claudia learns to grow into who and what she is and was always meant to be. Loved so much having all the others from this series come together in the end. The nasty Jacqueline gets her much deserved comeuppance. And no loss at all. So terribly sad this wonderful series is finished but I cannot wait to see in which direction this author will take us next. This is my honest review of this book which I read through Kindle Unlimited.

Anna does it again!

This is the finale of the Fire Maiden series and it is everything I expected. This story is different in that our fire maidens comes from a family of fire maidens, so she has always known what she was and what is expected of her. It doesn’t mean she has to like it though. Bucking against the restraints of her position she takes way too many chances. She starts to see her mistake as her frivolousness has consequences.

I loved this story! Having all the fire maidens and their mates come to help banish the evil was especially enjoyable! I loved seeing their friendship and honor take center stage.

This story ticks all the boxes and you can not go wrong with this or any of the books in the series.

Excellent story

Claudia and Heath’s story is a fast paced entertaining story. Loved that the characters from the previous stories join this story. Once again an excellent story. Wonderful characters with plenty of action.

Heath and Claudia's Story - The End of an Era

Having devoured all the books in this wonderful series I was looking forward to Heath's story and I have to say it didn't disappoint. I've always liked it when he stepped up to help his buddies in the previous books and wanted him to find his own HEA. I loved his story but as the final one in this series, I admit I'm sad realising that his story is the last and that the series has come to an end.

Health and Claudia's story was a fitting end, I loved how they were able to move past their fears about trusting someone new, how Heath was able to get past his fear of opening himself up to love so they were able to accept that they could find happiness and love together. It was nice to see his buddies and their Fire Maidens all come together, I love the abiding friendships and camaraderie formed not only between the guys but their wonderful mates. I'm going to miss this bunch of shifters but then all good things come to an end - although maybe Anna can revisit them when they all have children, perhaps a Christmas Special sometime?

But back to Heath and Claudia, these two are perfect for each other, but then they would be because they are destined mates and Destiny wouldn't have it any other way. They met by chance one evening and ended up spending the most incredible night of their lives together - only to part in the morning without exchanging details. Later that day he attends an interview for the position of bodyguard to the only born fire maiden, you've guessed it, Claudia. Despite her not wanting him as part of her team they work out an arrangement, a professional one, which turns out to be the best decision possible when dark forces attack Claudia and her safety and survival is placed squarely on Heath's broad shoulders.

As always Anna's writing style, research of locations and characters are a joy to read.

The narration of this book, in fact, the whole series is by the talented Kelsey Osborne, she brought all the characters to life beautifully.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.
