Publisher's Summary

From the host of Fox News @ Night, a deeply personal book about finding purpose and growth amid life's unpredictability.

“What a gift this book will be to your soul.” (Lysa TerKeurst)

Whether it's her work today as a reporter and host for Fox News, her years in law school, or the time she spent competing in pageants like Miss America, Shannon Bream has spent her entire adult life navigating high-pressure environments where perfection is expected and competition is the name of the game. But in this laugh-out-loud book of stories and inspiration, Shannon shares the moments away from the cameras and the halls of government, in which she learned that the values and faith of her blue-collar upbringing could keep her grounded in a world where everyone wants you to be something other than who you are.

In Finding the Bright Side, Shannon continues a conversation about authenticity, humility, and trusting in God that she's already begun with her followers on social media. She shares behind-the-scenes stories from Washington, DC, revelations from her time reporting on the Supreme Court, and lessons learned from the most challenging moments of her life - from the time she was fired from her first job and told, "You're the worst person I've ever seen on TV" to the time she heard "there is no cure." But through all of this, faith (and a little bit of stubbornness!) has helped Shannon to keep hope, find purpose in the pain, and find laughs along the way.

Praise for Finding the Bright Side

“Integrity. Faith. Diligence. Success. Shannon’s book - and life - elevate these cherished values. For anyone hoping to move forward without compromising convictions, this book is a must read.” (Max Lucado, pastor and best-selling author)

“In Finding the Bright Side, Shannon reveals that her sunny face and disposition is not just from good genetics. Her success is long in coming and well-deserved. She is sheer joy in a bottle.” (Kathie Lee Gifford, best-selling author of The Rock, the Road and the Rabbi)

Critic Reviews

"What a gift this book will be to your soul. My friend, Shannon, has a fascinating, sometimes devastating, story that she’s chosen to make completely delightful. The way life twists and turns with the unexpected and unpredictable, can leave some of us feeling disillusioned and fighting against the way things turn out. This page turning read will remind you that with God, there’s always beauty to be discovered, and teach you how to look for it in your own story." (Lysa TerKeurst, bestselling author of Uninvited and It’s Not Supposed to be This Way, president of Proverbs 31 Ministries)

“Integrity. Faith. Diligence. Success. Shannon’s book—and life—elevate these cherished values. For anyone hoping to move forward without compromising convictions, this book is a must read.” (Max Lucado, pastor and best-selling author)

"An extraordinary story of deep faith triumphing over painful hardships, told with such refreshing honesty you almost won’t believe it. And did I mention the humor? If you ever thought the brilliant and beautiful Shannon Bream had an easy and perfect life, you’re in for some big surprises. Read it and be encouraged!" (Eric Metaxas, best-selling author of Martin Luther and Bonhoeffer)

Engaging, inspirational & relatable!

This is a great book from beginning to end!Truly enjoyed Shannon reading her own story. Also, felt I was privileged in sharing her experiences with her whether they be joyous or somber. Very engaging and quite funny. Shannon Bream definitely can laugh at herself in situations we have all been in ourselves. Her outlook on life and truly challenging situations along with her relationship with God is both inspirational and comforting. Shannon definitely helps us to find the bright side in all situations in life.

Reading & production very good

the author does a great job of explaining all the different pieces to her life what I enjoyed the most was the honesty that she approached the book with the remember things that made me think maybe it's not for a guy to read but when is all done I think every person can relate to the challenges that she's overcome and that she's ready to deal with. I wish she'd write a book on her personal views and opinions but I know she stays away from it because she's a news anchor and doesn't want to impair her credibility to certain groups of people the very interesting book.

Excellent Read!

I went to school with Shannon in elementary and middle school. She is so genuine and I loved hearing her story since our lives went in different directions. I could not stop listening. I love that it was narrated by her as well. What a great story!

Inspiring and honest.

I deeply enjoyed both Shannon's taking us behind the scenes of law school, pageantry, news reporting and the activities she's covered. The honest way she shared how Jesus brought her through dark valleys and Gods perfect timing are a great reminder for believers and a testimony to those that don't know Him.

Everyone should read

This is one of the best books I have read. It has a uplifting message along with a True Christians account of the ups and down of life. Shannon tells her story in a hard to put it down fashion dealing with adversely and success with God always at her side. I have always been a fan during her time at FOX in my humble opinion she is the best they or any news organization has. I strongly recommend this book to one and all!!!
