Worst narrator!!

I will never buy another book with this woman. She also did brene Browns book. I was livid when I heard her voice! Horrifying and ruins the good content.

Poor narrator

Great book! Loved the content but the sarcastic tone of the narrator made it very difficult to get through. Poor choice in narrator.

This book for me was life-changing!

I wish I would have found this book sooner. This book excites the inner parts of my soul. I am now happy, relaxed, and more confident about the world.

Remarkably healing and transformative!

This book completely changed my life! So many deep, actionable insights into understanding what it means to live my right life- the "ultimate realization of [my] potential for happiness" (xv), "the ultimate manifestation of [my] potential for good and happiness" (xiv). These insights are accompanied by remarkable steps to get there, to access "the set of conditions [that] allow [me] to fulfill [my] potential while creating the greatest positive impact on the world" (xv). My life has changed immeasurably because of this book, and I continue re-reading it seven years later.

I did give the narrator for the Audible version a low rating though : ( the voice sounds timid and afraid and does not do justice to this powerful work.

Wonderful book for younger readers

I am a Martha Beck fan. Though, only read up to chapter nine of this title. Overall, felt this was a solid book aimed at helping those relatively new to theories about personal growth, navigate change. As someone who has been thinking about this for several decades, I found the tools and stories to reinforce what I already knew. Similar to other readers, I felt the narration was distracting and contributed to me not finishing.

Great content, awful delivery

I only persisted in listening to the book until the end because of its content. It really addressed stuff I’ve been dealing with for a while, like learning how to trust my intuition, voice and path, and tools on the HOW.
It was extremely validating to some deeper aspects of my journey and my own self development/growth in the last few years.

However, the narrator’s tone and inflection was wildly inappropriate for the content, sounding snarky and condescending every step of the way. Like sarcasm on steroids. Or Alice in Wonderland’s Queen of Hearts. That’s kind of how I pictured her (which also made it more bearable, oddly enough). I wonder if the author listened to this narrator before allowing her to narrate her book. Very off-putting.

I loved this audiobook and will listen to it several times

I just finished listening to Finding Your Own North Star and will listen to it again while using the pdf exercises included. Martha Beck’s framework for clearing through the clutter of life and honing in on the most meaningful and healthy way to proceed with life was deeply comforting for me. Thank you Martha!

This should be the textbook in high school guidance counseling! Instead of focusing on which secondary school to attend, empower teenagers to navigate life.
