Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Publisher's Summary
Earth is gone. Eden promises a new start for mankind.
Kendra, Andrew, and the other survivors arrive with Lewis Hound’s chosen people at an unfamiliar planet with more questions than answers: how did they get there? Where did all of the advanced technology come from? And is this really Proxima B Centauri?
The colony ship breaks into sections and makes an emergency landing amidst a meteor shower, and Lewis Hound, Eden’s enigmatic leader, goes missing.
Despite their misgivings and the initial chaos, people soon settle into a routine in the fledgling colony. But a growing number of suspicious circumstances lead Andrew and Kendra to doubt what they’re being told, and they begin to think that there might be more dangerous predators about than the ones on four legs.
With new friends and old adversaries, they struggle to find the truth behind a growing web of deceit.
What is beyond the forbidden mountain ranges that surround the valley where they landed? And where is Lewis Hound?
Final Days: Colony is the second book in an epic new series by Jasper T. Scott and Nathan Hystad.

Near unbearable listen
I bought the whole series prior to listening because I love the narrator. Not even the narrator's performance was up to par in this series.
But good lord the author makes so many mis-steps in this second book that I can't finish it. I'd rather go listen to the bobiverse series with the same narrator.

The poster child for bad scifi
It was bad in book one but I still wanted to give it a chance. By the end of book 2 I wanted them all dead. It's like every science fiction TV show you've ever seen that got cancelled because it was going nowhere. Filled with characters that couldn't keep the same personality throughout the story. Unable to make simple leaps of faith and intelligence a little below that of a brick.
If you read any book anywhere near The Martian I would be shocked if you find this entertaining. It was quite frankly awful and I don't care what happens in book 3

Down Hill Dive From First Book
This book had a lot of potential with a great narrator. I couldn't finish because it just became absurd. We have someone who controls every action but for some reason lets a cult just rise out of control. One the main heroes, Andrew, does nothing but whine about everything. I gave up before I finished it and sent it back.

Captivating Sci-fi
This is a unique, skillfully composed, attention grabbing story with well constructed characters. With continuity, this exciting, imaginative, suspenseful story picks up where Final Days ended. This action packed story with plot twists, mystery, secrecy and deception was difficult to put down. I enjoyed this story and I look forward to the next book in order to learn what happens next. The narration of this book was splendid. I was provided a free review copy of this audio book and am voluntarily leaving this review.

Awful ending
It’s a good thing it is only the second book. This was probably 5 stars until the last part. Beyond not believable. Hope it is fixed in the last book but I don’t have much faith where this is heading. I did like 90% of the book though so still worth it. Maybe you won’t find the last part as bad as I did.

The weakest book of the series
Interesting and unique presentation of a post-apocalyptic novel. I read a lot of this genre, and this was a different approach, and I enjoyed the concept. Unfortunately, the three books were full of plot-holes and often quite unrealistic. While I never thought of giving up listening, the three-book series was just "okay". This book, book 2, was the weakest of the trilogy, which is often the case. If you're reading the series, though, you must listen to this one.
Of course, as always, Ray Porter was superb as the narrator.

Unbelievable character development
The characters do stupid things. One minute Andrew is telling the kid to look after his daughter if he should die, and the next he wants to kill the kid for becoming his daughter’s boyfriend while he was away. And another thing, Andrew swore he’d never leave his daughter again after finding her. In this book he goes off on deadly excursions all the time, leaving his daughter with people he knows are baddies. Just too many unbelievable character changes that make no sense, even though this is fiction. I feel as though I wasted 2 audible credits on the 2 audiobooks in this trilogy. The 2nd instalment being so bad I’m not even going to listen to the 3rd and final audiobook.
