Publisher's Summary

I come from a family of fighters. I always thought I'd follow in their shadows, becoming unstoppable in the ring. That changed the day I saved the life of a woman I loved, but could never have. My brother hailed me as a hero, and my reward was a wheelchair. Paralyzed, my life became an inescapable nightmare. Until I met her. Ash Mabie had a heart-stopping smile and a laugh that numbed the rage and resentment brewing inside of me. She showed me that even the darkest night still had stars, and it didn't matter one bit that you had to lie in the weeds to see them. I was a jaded asshole who fell for a girl with a knack for running away. I couldn't even walk but I would have spent a lifetime chasing her. Now, I'm on the ropes during the toughest battles of my life. Fighting the shadows of our past. Fighting to reclaim my future. Fighting for her.

Good story!

This audiobook deals with a handicapped hero who is lovesick for his brother's wife and the awkward girl who has never really belonged or been loved by anyone. I enjoyed the story, the characters and loved the ending. Narration was well performed.

Enjoyed

Always love to read a Aly story. They come alive from page one until the end. I love how I can visualize the story play out like a movie. Laura and Carson were new to me narrators and they did an incredible performance. I loved that I could not easily guess what was going to happen in the story. Looking forward to listening to more stories narrated by both of them.

just ok

I liked fmthe first book of the series but this one was disappointing. Ashe was sooo immature and that is not my cup of tea. Flynn was the reason I made it threw the story and glad he got his happy ending but boy did I wish for another love for him.

Great

I'm going through this series and I loved the first book but this book had more humor and was really sweet. I really enjoyed the story and loved that there was not a manufactured reason for the characters to argue. And when they did argue, they communicated to overcome the issues. Flint and Ash were great together and Ash, especially, was wonderful- she had a difficult past but she was so cheerful and optimistic. They went through some difficult parts but overall, what rose above was loyalty and love. it was also great to see the other characters from this series again.

The narrators of the audiobook, which I borrowed through Audible Escape were good. I thought they effectively brought the story to life. Both Laura Jennings and Carson Beck narrated all the books in the series so I'm looking forward to continuing the journey with this family thought their narration.

Flint and Ash

A beautifully captivating, humorous, and heartfelt story. Flint and Ash were perfectly imperfect. I enjoyed this book.
Narration was fantastic!

I am so in love..

Aly Martinez did not disappoint.. this book was sooo good. There were a few things I thought were a tad far fetched but over all this was such a good book. It made me laugh out loud and it made me cry with sweetness and sadness. I accidentally read the 3rd book first but I love this series so much I am going to listen to the 3rd one again just to put it all in order and because it is just so good.. this author has such a way of writing. Just when you think everything is tied up in a bow she gives you a twist which you could not have expected. Uggg just gushing with love for these characters in these 3 books 🥰.
Also the narrator continues to do a great job!!

Good but not great

Ok, so let me start by saying I am a huge fan of Aly Martinez and this series. Flint and Ash are an amazing couple that I quickly fell in love with. Flint spends pretty much the whole book trying to make up for hurtful things he said to Ash early in their relationship. Which was great and I enjoyed their journey. The only reason I felt this book was good and not great was because the story fizzled out a little over 1/2 through the book. Then it was just a little boring. And the conflict or drama that takes place from there on is for other couples around them. But I’m sure I’ll read the last book in the series. I have to know what happens to all the Paige brothers.

Best Series Ever!

i’ve been an audible member for over 10 years and don’t write reviews but this series was so great I just had to share!! I started listening to this book at 10 PM and was so hooked within an hour that I stayed up all night listening. The performances were great, the story kept me hooked, the character development was robust, it made me laugh, it made me cry and overall give me a sense of joy that I listened to a fantastic book. Enjoy ~

Ok

I am bummed that I didn’t enjoy this one as much as FIGHTING SILENCE. I felt that both Flint and Ash acted so immature most of the time, even when they reunited 3 years later. I didn’t get their chemistry as it felt very forced. I will listen to the final book tho as Quarry’s story has me intrigued!

the narrated voices did better than the first book.
ms Jenni us actuallty shifted her tone as ash got older which helped me believe in the character. good story,I'm holding off on Q and will get back to him.
however, as much as i liked these stories i loved Ms Martinez's
writing with thrive and singe...so look much better
