Great story

This is such a heart wrenching story; it took me on an emotional roller coaster. Parts of it made me laugh out loud. But dealt with serious issues. Narrators were excellent. Looking forward to listening to the next book!

second chance romance

Roman and Any are unexpectedly reunited two years after their traumatic divorce. misunderstandings are cleared up as they fight a battle to recover their stolen daughter. The only problem is that it ends in a cliffhange, but I'm starting book 2 straight away!

Woah

I really didn't know what to expect as I didn't read the blurb but someone told me, "I think it's about a couple that had a miscarriage". Imagine my surprise when it was not only so flatly about a couple who had lost a baby, but it was soooo much more.

The love between Elisabeth and Roman was PALPABLE. The alpha manly way that Roman takes his life and his woman back was hot AF. The. There is sooo much more with the side story with Clare. I just had no idea that I would be this sucked into this audio and so incredibly invested in the story. I didn't even want to pause for a review.

Do I even need to mention Jason, Maxine and Andi? We all know they are amazing, we all know they fail at nothing and all they do is win.

Engaging

Really enjoyed. I liked the honesty of the characters. The ending left me wanting more.

I love this story!

This is a different style of writing with more than 2 main characters in many ways. Roman was so hot and amazing. I could feel their pain which is a tribute to Aly's writing and the narration of Jason, Maxine and Andi. I am completely in love with this story like I am watching or living it. Must listen! Now immediately diving into Book 2!

Loved the story, hated the male narrator.

This is sad.

What did you like best about this story?

The love that Roman has for his (ex)wife.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The female narrators were awesome. I always like to hear Maxine Mitchell. However, the male narrator sounded like a computer. When he spoke , it felt so dull with no emotion. Reminds me of an automated operator.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not really.

Great Book!!!

This was a great book. I had this in my library for a while. Decided it was time to read a new book by an author I had not read before. I did not regret it. I loved the story and the suspense. The narration was excellent!!!!

An enthralling listening from beginning to end!

Where does Retrieval rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's definitely among my top favorites now.

What did you like best about this story?

It was intriguing and captivating.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I'm a HUGE fan of Jason Carpenter and was first introduced to him through his excellent voice acting on Helena Hunting's Clipped Wings series. I first discovered Andi Arndt when I listened to her wonderful narration of Pulled by AL Jackson. These two never fail to suck me into the story. Maxine Mitchell was a new-to-me narrator.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Most definitely. I listened to the bulk of it while doing my laundry, and it made that drudgery way less annoying than it usually is.

Any additional comments?

I was so relieved to have the sequel already in my Audible collection so I didn't have to wait.

Female narrator Maxine Mitchell is not good here

What an incredible story. Beautiful in fact. The narrator s Andi and Jason did an excellent job however Maxine Mitchell is way too over the top. She tries too hard and with that said you loose the character she’s playing/portraying. She is like Andi Arndt very over used in the business however for Claire they totally used the wrong actor She ruined that part. But the rest of the story is awesome. Definitely worth a credit. What a true love story

This book was fantastic. Aly Martinez did a really good job of bringing us into the story. I felt everything to hilarity, actual laughing out loud to some really heartbreaking, crying in my cereal, kind of sadness.

Narrators were mostly really good:

It was an interesting way to narrate, though, I would have preferred Andi Arndt read all the female parts for this one. I have a hard time listening to Maxine MItchell

Maxine Mitchell -3 stars -she's pretty whiny and she hitches a lot, it's difficult to listen. Luckily she didn't read enough to distract from the story
