Her commitment to dating fifty men wasn't about collecting experiences or racing toward a finish line. It was a deliberate, organized effort to better understand compatibility and ultimately find the right match. I found that approach both practical and refreshing.
What I admired most was her openness. She was willing to put herself out there repeatedly, accept disappointment, learn from each encounter, and honestly evaluate what she was discovering. One of the book's greatest strengths is that it isn't simply about finding what works—it's equally about discovering what doesn't. Every relationship, whether successful or not, became another piece of the puzzle, refining her understanding of herself and the qualities that truly mattered.
If I have one criticism, it is also a reflection of my own perspective rather than the author's. A significant portion of the book explores feelings, intuition, and spirituality. Those themes clearly come from years of her personal growth and self-exploration, and they are obviously authentic to the author's journey. For myself, as someone who tends to approach life from a more analytical perspective—and probably to my own detriment—I occasionally found those sections less engaging and even a bit uncomfortable.
Ironically, that discomfort also led to admiration. While I didn't always connect with the spiritual aspects of her story, I respected her willingness to embrace that part of herself so completely and to write about it with such honesty. It made me recognize that my reaction says as much about me as it does about the book.
In the end, this isn't just a story about dating after fifty. It's a thoughtful exploration of self-discovery, intentional decision-making, resilience, and learning through experience. Whether you're dating, happily partnered, or simply interested in how people make meaningful life choices, there's plenty here to think about. I would definitely recommend it.
