Poppy Fields has a movie-star mother, 84 million Instagram followers, paparazzi following her every move, and a problem. Her Mexican vacation just went sideways (abducted-by-a-drug-lord sideways).

Suddenly her life resembles one of her mother's movies, except the bullets are real, people are dying, and there's no guarantee of a happy ending. Surrounded by trained killers and unsure who she can trust, only one thing is certain - if Poppy doesn't escape, this vacation will be her last.

I have enjoyed the Country Club series but this book and the sequel (couldn’t even finish it) are very disappointing. It’s silly and not even remotely believable

Regrettable

I liked the story line for the most part. I didn't always like the male voice of the narrator. It just seemed off.

I’m really really enjoying this author. I just wish I could get the whole series (different ones) at once but as “included with your membership” I’m just cautious on spending money.

Easy listen and entertaining

I love the characters and the narrator. The book is also funny. Julie Mulhern is one of my favorite authors.

Fast pace story and great characters

The cuteness this book starts out with becomes tedious pretty quickly, but the protagonist is only 23. The plot sounded like it could be good, but never lived up to its promise. At the end, she seems to magically mature, so there could be hope for the series.

A little disappointing . . .
