Great Story

There's no doubt Bernard Cornwell is talented in his story writing. This series is one of the best I've listened to since the Kushiel Series by Jacqueline Carey. Jonathan Keeble is my number 1 narrator of these books, I'm on the the next book and very disappointed Jonathan Keeble isn't narrating it. I'll have to order the books on kindle from here on out.

Slow start great finish

It took me some time to get used to the narrator; I’ve always just read the series myself. So things clashed in my own mind for a bit. In the end though I was in the edge of my seat taking it all in excitedly. As always Cornwall has left me wishing for the next book in the series.

Another Barn Burner

The incomparable Jonathan Keeble is back narrating two terrific battles. He has a rich baritone, reminds me of the late Richard Burton, and his narration of the battles are an out-of-body experience, you feel surrounded by sound and images. undoubtedly this is the authors finest series.

change of narrators

The first narrator of the series was best. The rest were false and weak of voice.

Keeble is the only narrator for this series

keeble is so much better than any of the other narrator's that are used for other books in the series

Another smash hit. Between Bernard Cromwell's talent, the awesome hero Uhtred, and Jonathan Keeble's interpretation of an old man telling a story— it's magic. But please, start with the first one. You don't want to miss one year of this warrior's life. I can't wait to read the next in the series.

The story line and narrator make this book amazing. It's a must hear/read for those of us that like amazing battle stories.

Mr Keeble is amazing

I must say that I never thought that there could be so much to how one reads a book for a recording and I simply must be said That Mr Keeble's performance is phenomenal; quite outstanding

Thank God Jonathan keeble's back

I'm really enjoying the series but I really didn't enjoy Tom Sellwood's voice in the previous book. Hopefully the next books are voiced by good voice actors.
