Publisher's Summary

You never mess with a young girl around James Brownstone. It doesn't matter what crime syndicate you belong to, that just doesn't sit well with him.

The world has changed since the news of Oriceran came out 20 years before. Now, countries all over the world have agreed to using a bounty system for dangerous criminals using advanced magic or advanced technology. Magical criminals, thugs, and bounty hunters in the future, people too powerful for the cops to deal with, will revert to what worked in the past.

If you find out you are hunted by Brownstone, we suggest you turn yourself in. It will save you a monumental ass-kicking.

Brownstone likes his life simple, but life is about to throw him a wicked curveball.

Download and kick back for a fun, action-packed adventure that will have you yelling for the good guys and laughing at just how much Brownstone can infuriate Shay. And, how thoroughly Shay mystifies Brownstone.

Note: This book contains cursing - perhaps humorous cursing, but cursing nevertheless. If this offends you, I don't suggest listening to this book.

Mr. Brownstone is the man

enjoyed this book immensely. took a chance after seeing the reviews and just got the audible version first. good decision on my part . the characters are complicated without being soooooo deep that they are untouchable. on to book two.

The story captures you from the very beginning till the end. It is both funny and exciting with the narrator making me believe t am listening to different people. This was very well done

Great Story But the Audio Book Skips Chapter 6

The chapters go from 5 to 7 in this story, I'm fairly sure that chapter 5 has been recorded, since it would be stupid to release an audio book missing a chapter I'm guessing this is a linking error. Please fix it.

Rip Roaring Action!

Loved the Brownstone character from Page 1! The story was good and the tension between Shay and Brownstone... tantalizing! Toss in barbecue and WOW!

Very interesting start

Interesting premise and start to a series. It doesn’t have quite the edge or connection, for me, of Death Becomes Her, but I’m still engaged enough to want to see what happens next.
Yes, the author notes are part of the fun in this book.
Rudd does a great job with narration.

Missing connections and details

There is more missing than I can work with and still enjoy a story. Not sure about what the main character is and what happened to his face. The world building was scarce on details so the genre didn’t really feel developed. The characters never left the page. The writing felt rush but I felt that the author was on to something but just couldn’t get there.

A great new series by Michael Anderle

No leather clad drop dead gorgeous gun kitten , this time it's monster with mad bounty hunting skills and a FORD F-350 Dualcab! Give it a try, you love it!

An enjoyable new series.

A bounty hunter who is obsessed with BBQ. An ass kicking archeologists with a dark past. (She says she's like Laura Croft, only without the money) And a young girl searching for her missing mother.
But this isn't a happy tale, no, this is the kind that ends in lots of bodies on the ground. And it was AWESOME!

Good start to the series

Who is James Brownstone? A man that lives by the KISS principle. Unfortunately the Harriken don't want him to live a simple life.

After saving Alison, the Harriken retaliate by killing James's dog, Leroy, which sets off James on a rampage, one that the Harriken will seriously regret.

Fast enough paced book and a good start to a 20+ book series, along with several spin-offs.

Brilliant

As always with MAs books, I enjoyed listening to the book, I like the characters and their dynamics. Although I like Brownstone I find him too thick headed sometimes but he's good at kicking-ass.
