Publisher's summary

They can never be together. The notion is laughable. Humans are inferior, a scourge on the Fae and on the magic passed down to them by angels millennia ago. And if Keen finds himself drawn to the tiny human female, he keeps it to himself. He won't add to the half-breed problem that threatens his people's existence.

Reese can't stand Keen. He criticizes her clothing, won't answer a straight question, and is too handsome for her peace of mind .Her entire life, people have pegged Reese for a shallow, ditzy blond. She won't accept the stereotype from the large, arrogant Fae too. But after Keen saves her life, she begins to question what truly lies beneath his stoic demeanor.

Forced together, Keen and Reese fight to survive among enemies, and Keen makes choices Reese couldn't have predicted. She glimpses a side of him that is protective and dangerously seductive. But Keen refuses to acknowledge their connection. Until he's faced with the decision to betray his people - or lose Reese forever.

So So

The overall plot and performance of the book was done well. It is clearly the next book of a series and I don't like it when an author continuously repeats information that a reader who read the first book should know. Makes me think that the author used that as filler and I think it's unnecessary. Why would someone start a series with the 2nd book. But again, that's just me.

Better

Absolutely fantastic read and loved it. I feel this one was much better then the first book. In the first book we put our toes in the water a little bit the second book we just kind of Dive Right In. The author did right in this book thank god it wasn't another 14 hour book. I have to say I did skip about 2 hours but like I thought what the first book I was able to Recaps at the end. But much much better I will love to see what comes in the 3 books.

The narration really brought this book to life, adding more depth and emotion!

Where’s the next book?

How can you end a story on such a cliffhanger and not finish it? Please finish the story.

Can't get into to it

Almost like a children's story where there is no depth or backstory to anything. A name and title and a one liner is not enough to make the reader care about the characters. You keep going in hopes of discovering something significant, but it's all surface and predictable

Best enjoyed well not paying complete attention.

The story very much read like the hormonally charged ramblings of a sixteen-year-old that's never actually had sex. I have read books on both sides of the PG to R-rated track, and the one thing that I have taken from them is the best sexual books have a reason for the sex. something is revealed when they are on unclothed, a certain degree of emotional intimacy or emotional maturation is explored through the act etc. And it is that depth that makes the sex something interesting to read, this book however had none of that. the attraction between the two characters increase at a steady Pace throughout the book, but I could see no possible reason for it except that they lost it and couldn't have. And then when they had they didn't want to give up. There was little to no emotional growth from any of the characters, and the internal dialogue very much red with the same kind of gender bias teenagers have. Where they think all boys are dumb and hormonal. And all girls are catty and hissing. having it playing in the background while you're doing a bunch of chores where you miss the lack of depth because you're only absorbing a portion of what's going on isn't that. But if this is something you're going to give any large degree of focus our attention to your very quickly going to find how shallow the continuity onto itself, the characters, the plot, and any sense of realism is.

I really enjoyed this. It took me a couple of books to get into it, but I’m glad that I stuck with it.
