Good read, not as good as the first

Was it good? Yeah. Was it as good as Heavenly Bodies, no. Hope the next book is better than this one.

Not like book 1

I was disappointed after really liking book 1 :(
500 things happening all the time and all over the place. It all gets lost and you don’t get to really go deep on anything to further connect. Plot twists are predictable but satisfying.

fairytale mythology

If you walk into Fallen Stars expecting a tight, logical contemporary romance, you’re going to have a rough time. However, if you approach it like a classic piece of mythology—where the gods are petty, the stakes are cosmic, and the logic is purely "vibes"—you’ll find a hauntingly beautiful experience. Despite the urge to yell at the FMC to "just think for a second," the story pulls you back in with its mythic creatures
Just as traditional myths, characters rarely act with "common sense." They act on prophecy, overwhelming emotion, or divine whim. If you view the FMC’s "poor choices" as the inevitable stumbles of a tragic figure in a legend, she becomes much easier to stomach. She isn't a modern girl; she’s a pawn in a celestial game.
FMC’s entire personality is obsessing over her "soulmate" connection, detracting from identity and the narrative starts to loop, and the "mythology" charm begins to wear thin.

If you lean into the fairytale atmosphere, you can almost treat her obsession as part of the "magic system"—a force of nature rather than her personality. But if you’re looking for a protagonist with a rich internal world and complex motivations, the "soulmate-deep" characterization is definitely going to be the breaking point.
