Publisher's Summary
After a caviar-related disaster, Sophia Salgado races to prevent the assassination of Maloney Investigations’ greatest celebrity - Fred the seagull.
When Sofia returns from vacation, she discovers that her pet seagull, Fred, has become her greatest enemy: the paparazzi. Her former agent has dressed him with a tiny camera and created a wildly successful YouTube channel using his footage. To ensure his loyalty, her agent has been bribing Fred with caviar, feeding into his addiction and stoking a fire within his tiny heart that can only be quenched by more caviar. So he starts hitting luxurious parties. And that’s where it all goes south.
Fred crashes a party for caviar but ends up filming nefarious activities. When the disgruntled host uses bullets to defend his secrets, Sofia must find the bird before the host gets another chance to finish the job. Weighing her down are her insufferable fellow detective Aidan Maloney and her kindergartner bodyguard Violet. Can Sofia lead this crew to Fred before it’s too late?

Outstanding Performance!
F is for Fred by Rebecca Cantrell and Sean Black, narrated by Madeline Mrozek, is Book 6 in the Malibu Mystery series. What a fun listen this one was! (I'll let you read the plot synopsis on your own, so I don't give away any clues!) This audiobook is only the second one in the series that I have listened to; even though it's probably more fun to start at the beginning, I somehow managed to not follow my own advice because I started with E is for Exposed. Oops! Because each book is a complete mystery, without cliff hangers, reading them out of order has not affected my overall enjoyment of the books. I did end up purchasing Book 1, though, so I can get more background info on these characters, even though I feel like I've known them forever already. Likable, relatable, funny, sarcastic, and real to life...they are the best! :-) The books are well-written, funny, and super entertaining! I'm definitely excited to start the beginning and work my way back up to this one again!
I'm a huge fan of narrator Madeline Mrozek. Like ALL her other books, her performance here is phenomenal! If I was only able to choose one person to narrate every book I listened to, here on out, my choice would be Ms. Mrozek, hands down. I'm always amazed that there is only ONE of her reading for and playing the part of ALL the characters. She has the best voices, and she never seems to confuse any of them. I don't know how she remembers each character's voice, tone, mood, thoughts, and feelings from scene to scene, but she does! Because of this, there isn't any confusion on my part when listening. I never have to rewind or replay certain parts, and I don't lose track of what's going on in the story. Her pace, volume, and enunciation are perfect. Like no one else, Madeline Mrozek takes the characters on the page and turns them into relatable people with real-life fears, wants, needs, quirks, and big personalities. She's quite amazing!
My overall rating for F is for Fred: Malibu Mystery, Book 6 by Rebecca Cantrell and Sean Black, narrated by Madeline Mrozek is 5 out of 5 stars. Both the storyline and narration are fun, engaging, and entertaining. I recommend this audiobook - and series - to those who enjoy well-developed characters, humor, and mysteries (without the violence and graphic details). I think this may turn into one of my new favorite series! Off the download Book 1! Happy listening!
Thank you for reading my review. I hope it was helpful. :-)

The best one yet in this fun series...........
F is for Fred is the sixth book in this series featuring former Hollywood star Sofia Salgado. Although the authors give enough background that this could be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading all of the books in the series. They are truly the perfect blend between comedy, mystery and action. Every time I have listened to the next book in the series, I think that it can't get any better, but the authors continue to prove me wrong. F is for Fred finds Sofia still working as a private detective in Hollywood with retired police officers Brendan and Aiden Maloney as they investigate the supposed infidelity of a plastic surgeon. From their first meeting with the client, the wife of said philandering doctor, I never could have guessed all the crazy directions this investigation would take. Add in plenty of delightful dialogue between Aiden and Sofia, visits from all the usual characters - Sofia's precocious niece Violet, her best friend and Hollywood hunk Grey, and her former agent now representing her pet seagull Fred - and you get just a small taste of how much fun you will have listening to this book.
Madeline Mrozek narrates all the books in the series, and I absolutely love her for Sofia's bubbly, take charge personality. I have listened to everything she has narrated, and you cannot find a more professional and talented narrator. She has a unique voice for all the regularly featured characters, and her performance is absolutely flawless. Between the amazing writing and the stellar narration, this is a book worth more than one credit. Use the others to buy books 1 to 5 as soon as possible.

Fun with Fred
F is for Fred
: Rebecca Cantrell, Sean Black
This is book six in the Malibu Mystery series. Sophia is back at work after two weeks of family vacation. Aidan has a new girl friend that's redecorating the detective agency office. Their newest case has them twisting and turning to prove the case for their client. In the meantime Fred the seagull has become a YouTube star. He's been wearing a helmet cam and recording things he sees while in flight. The two things intersect and the chase is on. Another great adventure!!! I can't wait to find out where the next case will take the detectives.
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Madeline Mrozek brings the story to life!!!

This book was amazing! Funny stories and a great narrator! Fred sure gets a lot of action in this story. The academy award goes to FRED for best cameraman
Sophia Salgado is back!!! She’s funny, smart and mischievous. This is a light, quick, fun cozy story. Our girl Sophia is returning to work after a 2-week vacation with her family. She arrives at work to discover there have been changes in the office and not all of them good. Brendan, her boss, was not pleased with the changes, but since Aiden offered to pay for them, the changes became all good.
Aiden has finally found the girl who checks all his boxes for dating, and she might be a little bit too perfect for him. Priscilla is his new flame. Despite Sophia being happy for him, she is overdosing on peanuts because of her. Every time Aiden invokes what Priscilla says/thinks sentence, Sophia does her version of the drinking game; she eats a peanut.
Her fast, wonderful crazy rides in her Tesla roadster gives her a rush and makes Aiden a nervous wreck. Our girl always wants to drive and Aiden is a white-knuckle passenger in her car.
Sophia and Aiden are chasing Fred, the pelican, around town to obtain a memory card from his tiny GoPro camera. While Sophia was on vacation, her ex-manager Jeffery has made Fred, a YouTube sensation. Now it seems that Fred might have recorded something and is in danger. In addition, the information on the memory card could hold evidence in Sophia’s case. Sophia, Adien, and Violet, Sophia’s niece, are chasing Fred as he forages for food in various dumpster and luxurious parties. Violet takes great pleasure in getting on Adien’s nerves.
This continues to be a delightfully enjoyable series.

F is for Fred
Sofia returns for vacation only to realize she missed a lot! It turns out her ex agent is now using Fred, the local seagull, and turning him into a movie star. When they land a new case she realizes Fred caught some footage on his camera. Of course things are never calm or easy in this life. This series is so fun and I totally loved her niece! Madeline Mrozek does a fantastic job on the narration.

Enjoyable dive in
Have you ever dove into a book only to find out that you're in the middle of the series, completely lost and confused? Well, I have and I am delighted to report that this did not happen with this. I picked up the book because I wanted to read and it had a seagull on it.
F is for Fred revolves around former child actress turned private investigator Sofia Selgado as she works cases for Meloni investigations. In this particular book, we take a look at Sofia's relationship with Fred - the caviar addict seagull who hangs out at her home and has become famous because her former agent has strapped a camera to his head and uploads YouTube videos. The only problem is, Fred has gotten himself in trouble because he has recorded some sensational footage at the home of a different child actress. The only problem is a masked man, Sofia's agent Jeremy, and Sofia are all after the tiny SD card.
I really enjoyed this light hearted mystery. I was given a code in exchange for my honest review

F is for Fred by Rebecca Cantrell and Sean Black is a delightful standalone listen. Its book 6 in the Malibu Mystery series. I loved how the authors wrote an original book featuring a bird as one of the primary characters. The imagery is so well done. Madeline Mrozek was incredible performing this book. She brought the characters to life with distinguishable voices. I could hear exactly who was speaking. I'm really impressed with her talent! A light and enjoyable cozy mystery
Fred, Sophie’s feathered friend, plays a key role in this new mystery. A youtube celebrity exploited by Sophie’s ex-agent, Fred carries a camera around recording incredible images that are not supposed to be witnessed by anybody.
This was an entertaining and at times hilarious listen. I really enjoyed knowing more about Sophie and Aidan. There were plenty of unusual and humoristic situations. The characters were well portrayed and their conversations were fluid and realistic. The mystery was less gruesome than other cozy mysteries, thanks to the originality of it and how well the book is written, it kept my attention at all times, and the ending was something unexpected.
Madeline Mrozek did a wonderful job bringing the characters to life and transmitting their emotions. It was like listening to real people having real conversations. Each character had their voice and style, so following dialogs was easy. Mrozek is a very talented narrator, and listening to a book narrated by her is always a great experience.
This was a light and enjoyable cozy mystery. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone into this genre.
