An essential road map to achieving professional and personal success - from the “First Lady of Sales”

While you may not have “sales” in your title, that doesn't mean you don't have to sell. Renowned sales authority Dr. Cindy McGovern believes that everyone is a salesperson, regardless of his or her job description. When you ask for a referral, network to form a new connection, or interview for a job, you're selling the other person on an ideal version of yourself. Every Job Is a Sales Job will help you learn to identify “selling” opportunities that you may have overlooked. This indispensable road map will show you how to take control of your personal and professional success.

McGovern shares her proven five-step sales process to help you attract new business, retain existing customers, and spot opportunities to promote yourself and your ideas. You'll learn how to:

  • Create a plan and set attainable goals
  • Identify subtle opportunities that could result in future success
  • Establish trust and listen for clues to understand what others need
  • Ask for what you want and move past the fear of rejection
  • Follow up on your ask, be grateful, and pay it forward

My New Favorite Audiobook!

This book is a must-listen. I started listening to this book and taking notes and couldn't stop listening. Dr Cindy McGovern drew me in to the simple but powerful concepts of the art of selling with her energy and her fantastic stories. She is a masterful storyteller!

I learned many years ago that, as a learning and development professional, I'm a salesman. I sell ideas and behavior change. However, this book helped me to realize that we sell all the time. You will hear in the book, "every interaction is a transaction." Viewing interactions as sales transactions to influence decisions and behavior will help you to achieve success in so many areas of your life. I've already put into practice many ideas from the book. One idea in particular that was helpful to me was to identify whether I was going for what I wanted or if I was just settling for what I thought I deserved.

If you are a customer, co-worker or concerned citizen you sell as you interact with others. The five-step process in this book will help you to discover what you want and how to offer others what they want. The stories that the author shares will help you apply the principles of the book.

Fantastic to Listen/Read

What a joyful enlightenment it was to listen to this book, every single second I was drawn to the material, the real life stories and the truthfulness of the author, who is also the narrator. Totally authentic, just the way I like it.
