Publisher's summary

When Constable Evan Evans discovers a beautiful shepard's cottage in the mountains of Llanfair, Wales, he and his fiancée are thrilled. It's only months before their wedding, and they are eager to begin their new life together. The cottage is in need of renovation, so Evan wastes no time before he begins making much-needed repairs.

But it turns out that Evan's discovery extends far beyond the beauties of a mountaintop view and a cozy dream house when Evan finds the skeleton of a child buried in the front yard. His professional inclinations soon get the best of him, and he cannot rest until he discovers the identity of the child.

The skeleton is decades old, but the discovery eerily coincides with the case of a present-day missing girl. Although discouraged by his fellow detectives, Evan dives into the mystery of both missing children. He soon realizes that if he can solve the decades-old death, he just might find a crucial insight into the whereabouts of the child missing in the present day.

Rhys Bowen's newest spellbinding addition to her critically acclaimed cozy series will win the hearts of fans and newcomers alike.

Book Eight and Still Great

An old shepherd's cottage in the mountains lead to Constable Evans discovering a body. The skeleton of the child has been there for decades, but Constable Evans cannot rest until he solves the mystery. His discovery comes at the same time that there's an active investigation of a missing child. Are the two cases connected? GREAT STORY

Love this series

The cottage sounds amazing. I want to live there. Getting some back story on Evan was nice. Bronwen is so patient with Evan, being the good boy scout that he is, It's very sweet. I thought it was a good storyline and as always, Roger Clark, does a phenomenal job at narrating.

good accents

Would LOVE to be able to listen to an audiobook with different voices and sound effects circa 1940’s radio. Those old programs ready engaged the imagination.

Another wonderful Evan Evans murder mystery

Wonderful Evan. Great narrator. Terrific story. Another awesome book in this series. If you haven’t read any of the books in this series start from the beginning. Eventually, you’ll get to this one. They’re all great.

Narrator disappointment

The narrator really did a very poor job with accents off from the main welsh characters. Thank goodness those characters did not speak long as they were all hard to listen to.

The Landscape

Two “lost” little girls 25 years apart. Evan is now involved with discovering if there is a connection
between them.
What was his childhood connection to the first one? Very clever answer at the end,
