THE SUNDAY TIMES #1 BESTSELLER

A Book of the Year for The Times, Financial Times and Waterstones

‘This isn’t a book; it’s a case for revolution’ CAMILLA LONG, SUNDAY TIMES

‘A damning cannonball of truth through the York ramparts’ MAIL ON SUNDAY

‘Surely has a claim to the title of book of the year, for its seismic impact’ JANINE GIBSON, FINANCIAL TIMES

The first joint biography of the Duke and Duchess of York and the first full biography of either of them, by renowned royal biographer and literary agent, Andrew Lownie.

Drawing on four years of research, numerous FOI requests and interviews with over a hundred people who have never spoken before, the book traces the lives of the late Queen’s second son and his ex-wife through their childhoods, courtship, marriage, divorce, careers, and royal and charitable activities.

Still living in the same house, they claim to be "the happiest divorced couple in the world". The book investigates the reality of their relationship and their love lives. It charts Andrew’s record in the Falklands, his business activities and reveals details of how the couple have been able financially to sustain their extravagant lifestyles. It also recounts the full story of the Yorks’ links with Jeffrey Epstein.

Chronicling their lives in parallel, the picture that emerges is of a spoilt prince unable to connect and a duchess pushed by her insecurities into a desperate need to maintain the attention her ‘royal’ status brought. Rigorously researched and packed full of revelations, this is eye-watering biography at its best.

‘This isn't just a royal biography. It's a study in reputational collapse and the danger of unchecked power inside Britain's most protected institution' THE STANDARD

A catalyst for Andrew’s de-princing’ THE TIMES

Reseñas de la Crítica

‘The most damning royal takedown since Spare paints Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson as venal, grifting and obsessed by sex' OBSERVER

‘Those who think Andrew has been hounded by a vengeful mob, and that it’s all gone too far, should read Lownie’s book and then wonder why it didn’t go further and faster' JANICE TURNER, THE TIMES

‘This isn't just a royal biography. It's a study in reputational collapse and the danger of unchecked power inside Britain's most protected institution' THE STANDARD

‘Explosive Makes Prince Harry’s Spare look positively restrained’ SUNDAY TIMES

‘The most devastating royal biography ever written’ DAILY MAIL

'Less a biographer than a mortician, he has delivered a 456-page obituary for the Duke and Duchess of York. It may also prove to be the first line of an obituary for the monarchy itself' NEW STATESMAN

'This searing biography of Prince Andrew crackles with scandals about sex and money on almost every page. The author's best-selling biographies have a habit of changing the reputation of famous figures… Although in the case of Entitled, he hasn't so much cemented Prince Andrew's reputation, as put it in concrete boots and thrown it in the river. It is hard to see how he might come back from this' BBC NEWS

‘Devastating … this is more than just a hit job on the duke. By examining Andrew’s taxpayer-funded role as the UK’s “special representative” for trade and investment, the author takes aim at an “Establishment cover-up”' THE TIMES

'A jaw-dropping account of arrogance, financial incontinence, greed and, indeed, entitlement' DAILY EXPRESS

'In the latest devastating biography by Andrew Lownie, which – in any rational scheme of things – should surely drive the final nail into the woodwormed remnants of his reputation' THE INDEPENDENT

'Among the most lurid, marmalade-dropping outlandish books published about a senior royal’ SUNDAY TIMES

Very thorough and thoughtful exploration of the complex personalities and actions of Andrew and Sarah. Fair minded and straight forward with no aim to be sensational or lewd in telling the facts. Author was also a great narrator. I will look forward to further insights in future books perhaps . Well done!

Could not stop listening

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Andrew read his own book. Fascinating content. I will listen to it again a few times. Thank you Andrew for being brave enough to publish the truth . Everyone needs to hear this.

The historical accuracy compiled over 4 years of research is really impressive.

Loved the narration of this book and appreciate it when it is the author who reads it. I feel it holds a lot more credibility.

The facts which have been so thoroughly researched

What an horrid person Andrew is…. Both of them are basically very stupid, regardless of the fact they’ve had the best education that money can buy and countless opportunities that the average person just would not get… the results being a pair of grifters who seem to burn through money, are willing to rub shoulders with questionable characters, Epstein being just one example..

You get the feeling Sarah’s heart is in the right spot, that she tries to buy affection and is just an exentric toff with several personalities, but there is a kindness present.

Andrew however, just vile, even when a small boy, and his sexual exploits and treatment of women is very murky indeed and I feel Virgina Robert’s/Giuffre is just scratching the surface..

Andrew Lownie asked 3000 people for comments, only 10% responded, this 10% is scathing indeed and only scratches the surface… should ex-security detail and those very close to the prince who have decided to remain silent be forced to speak about him in an affidavit or court deposition, i think Andrew could end up in handcuffs.

All in all, it is the likes of these two, but mainly Andrew who could damage the very fabric of the royal family and give those who support republicanism a soap box… the Queen protected him, her favourite son, what mother wouldn’t, but she had 80 years of loyal and flawless public service to lean into… Charles does not have that luxury and is yet to earn the respect his late mother had.. Therefore, Charles has done absolutely the right thing by getting shot of the absolute creep.

Well worth a listen.

Absolutely scathing account of Andrew’s behaviour

Interesting story, with good research, but let down by the author reading his own work very poorly.

This is the reason you don't narrate your own book
