Story
I asked for his criteria for bed buddies - that's the PG version. He swore at me and said he didn’t do groupies. And just like that, our friendship was off to a great start. Reese Forster was the starting point guard for the Seattle Thunder. Gorgeous. Cocky. Loved by the nation. He’s also attending preseason basketball training camp where I used to work.

New year. New place. New me. Right? Wrong. And all because of Shay Coleman. Football captain and quarterback, he was the big guy on campus. The cocky guy in my political science class with a smirk. I hated him on sight...and he was about to break all my rules.

He walked into school on his first day and owned it. I guess that's what happens when you're a prick, rich, and you're best friends with the ruling school's king. Also didn't hurt that he's drop-dead gorgeous. That's all fine. I mean, I have nothing to do with them. I'm a loner, invisible, and that's how I wanted it to be. I was even proud of it, until I wasn't. His name is Blaise Devroe. My name is Aspen Monson. He only knew how to get, command, and demand attention. I knew how to do everything but that. And this is our story.

He told me to settle. He asked what was wrong with me. He called me an easy target. That was within minutes when I first met Caden Banks. I labeled him an asshole, but he was more than that. Arrogant. Smug. Alpha. He was also to-die-for gorgeous, and my stepbrother's fraternity brother. Okay, yes I was a little naive, a tad bit socially awkward, and the smallest amount of stalker-ish, but if Caden Banks thought he could tell me what to do, he had another thing coming.

There were always whispers about my roommate at Hillcrest Academy. The wealthiest of the wealthy sent their kids to our boarding school, and Brooke Bennett had been at the top, though I never quite knew why. She was fun and outgoing, but she kept quiet about her family. The only things she showed me were photographs of her brothers. I became fascinated with her second-oldest brother. Kai Bennett. Smoldering. Hypnotic. Alluring. Kai had eyes that pulled me in and a face that haunted my dreams.

I crawled into Ryan Jensen’s bed that first night by accident. I barely knew him. I thought it was his sister’s bed - her room. It took seconds to realize my error, and I should've left... I didn’t. I didn’t jump out. I didn’t get embarrassed. I relaxed. And that night, in that moment, it was the only thing I craved. I asked to stay. He let me, and I slept. The truth? I never wanted to leave his bed. If I could've stayed forever, I would have. He became my sanctuary. Because - four hours earlier - my twin sister killed herself.

Being crew is walking between two worlds. One world is normal: Prom. Parties. College. Those are the concerns they worry about. In our world, we deal with other situations. Cops. Drugs. Brawling. That’s a typical day for us. But what if it wasn’t? What if there came a day when you stopped? When you considered letting your enemies win? When you didn’t fight back? When you chose a different path? First I lost my family. Then I got the Wolf Crew. I couldn't lose them too. But what happens when Cross, Zellman, and Jordan keep going...and I don’t?

For the longest time, I was Bren Monroe. I lived in Roussou, California. I had no parents, no brother, but I had a crew. Then things started to change. I never planned for any of it. I didn’t think I’d fall in love. I didn’t think I’d have a relationship with my brother again. I didn’t think that he’d come back.

My mother tried to destroy me. She doesn't exist to me anymore. And my father - the one who raised me - and the biological one are both works in progress. The only two people that I can trust are Mason and Logan, and they're the two people who I could lose. It won't happen. I won't let it. No matter the truth, no matter who loves me, I won't let anything or anyone come between us. They're my world. They're my life. They're my family.

I have loved Channing Monroe all my life. In first grade, he asked for my Trapper Keeper. I hit him in the head with it. Third grade, we were best friends. We kissed in seventh grade. In eighth grade, he turned into a bad boy and the rest was a tumultuous storm. Growing up, the problem was never love for us. Bad times. Good times. There were times when I felt our love in every inch of my body, vibrating, making me feel like it could bring me back to life. The problem was us. The problem is that we're living in two different worlds now. Fallen Crest and its millionaires for me.

Mason Kade is not known to be nice. He is ruthless, manipulative, and unforgiving. Most will say that he is a jerk, and he is to those that cross him or cross his loved ones. However, he does not want to be who he is. He does not enjoy hurting others, but there is no limit to the lengths he will go to protect himself and his brother. This is the story of how he came to be, and this is why so many love Mason Kade.

Publisher's Summary
Stone Reeves was my neighbor, and I've hated him since sixth grade.
Gorgeous and charismatic, he became the town's football god, while I became the town's invisible girl.
He went to a Division 1 school for football, while my father was fired by his father.
His team won the National Championship, while my mother died the same day.
He was a first round pick for the NFL...
...while I made the worst decision of my life.
Now I'm in Texas trying to pick up the pieces of my life.
But, Stone is here.
Stone is everywhere.
It doesn't matter that disaster has struck my life again.
It doesn't matter that he's the one trying to console me.
It doesn't matter that he's the nation's newest football obsession.
Because for me, he always has been and always will be my enemy.

This story has everything!
From beginning to end this book held all of my attention. This is much more than a friends turned enemies story. It is raw, painful, deep and beautiful. Dusty had other reasons to hate Stone as well and he hated her too. She lost her mother while she was in high school and she now has a step-mother named Gail who kept trying to get her to contact Stone now that they were in the same city together. She even called Stone’s mother to get his phone number.
Dusty finally hears from Stone when calls her to be nasty and tells her to call of Gail so she will leave his parents alone before they sue her for harassment. It is great to see the true animosity between Dusty and Stone at the beginning of this book. I don’t want to give away what happens in the book, but I will say that it is a hate to love book and not just between Dusty and Stone. Basically Dusty has cut herself off between everyone and she has absolutely nobody so it is her journey to friendship, family and love and it has all the feels.
Especially the relationship between Stone and Dusty is pretty great. It is sweet at times, Super HOT and Super STEAMY at times and utterly frustrating at most times. The fact that he is a famous football star doesn’t help matters much. But it makes for a great story! If you are looking for a sports romance that will leave you breathless grab this book!! If you are new to Tijan read this book NOW!!
Highly recommended!!!
My Favorite Quote from the Book:
“to make you mine. My woman. Just mine. All mine. I don’t care what you want. I can’t let you be someone else’s. Mine, babe. Mine.” He was waiting, not letting himself fall down on me, but I just pulled him the last bit toward me. I needed him. “I was going to tell you that I love you. That I didn’t care what you were planning for your future, because I am your future and that I loved you and that was that, but you beat me to it.” “You do?” I was smiling and I nodded. “Yeah.” My hand applied more force, still holding”

Narrator.: Jason Clarke ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐( I only wish he had more then 12 min out of 11 hours),
Savannah Peachwood ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (She did amazing Job. Savannah, did a fantastic job of differentiating between all the characters. Sometime's can be hard since there is just so many characters at play but I thought it was handled beautifully. The production was very clean, clear and enjoyable. )

It was ok
I love Tijan's books, but this one wasn't the best I've read/listened to.
The dynamic between Dusty and Stone was great, I thought he was a good character and definitely had the protectiveness I'd expect from a caring and compassionate person even through their bickering.
I enjoyed listening to the story, as the narrator had a great voice. However, I thought it was an actual dual POV and not a two-chapter guest appearance.
I would've rated this higher if not for the questionable actions, and the few things left open.
*Spoilers Below...*
1. Why did Stone hate her? Nothing was mentioned, so him supposedly hating her more was confusing.
2. Dumps her at home when she wanted to go when she had a serious concussion, leaving her with no keys, no coat, and no phone. He had them but did this. She could've died.
3. She hated him because of what his parents did, but then it was later said she hated him because of her stalker/crazy ex.
4. Speaking of the stalker, this was brought up really late in the book, and I wondered what was going on. I'd forgotten about the extremely vague prologue because of the huge space between them coming together.
5. The cookbooks. Dusty didn't read the messages in the backs of the books, and we didn't get to hear about them, either. It was as though they were forgotten about.
6. How did Stone not recognise Dusty in the box? Did he not look around the room even once?
7. Dusty had panic attacks and wasn't dealing with her trauma, but she didn't seem to grieve, especially at not being able to attend the funerals of her father and step-mother. She didn't even react; she didn't even mention about visiting their graves.
8. Why the hell would she make all of her "friends" so much food, and at their request? She was still healing, yet they hounded her to feed them and even bought the groceries specifically for her to do so. Yes, it's fictional and there are people like this out there, but it seemed a little excessive.

I wouldn't consider this a true enemies romance but more of a second chance. While the main characters have not been friends since 6th grade neither was going out of their way to make the other suffer. When they reconnect they argue and fight but they aren't overly malicious. There are some very heartbreaking scenes mostly at the beginning and you feel so much for what Dusty is going through. As with other Tijan books there is a us vs them mentality and like usual the heroine is targeted by mean girls. At times words and phrases became a bit repetitive but I have noticed this with the authors other books so I guess it's her writing style. I wish there was less repetition, but that is a personal preference. I still really liked the book especially the last chapter.
Narration was spot on! Savannah does an amazing job as usual. If you're a Jason Clarke fan he only narrates a few chapters.

I never go past a Tijan, I love the way that she tackles issues that affect so many people but are never spoken about openly.
Peachwood does most of the narration and is fantastic to listen to but when Clarke comes in you get a really good vibe of Stones character voice. Talk about masculinity in a voice.

ONE OF MY FAVOURITES!
Oh My God! This book was amazing! I had to force myself to go to sleep while I was in bed listening to this. This is definitely in my list of favourites because the storyline just has so much hate and heartbreak but eventually there is so much love and laughter. I love the way Tijan writes her books because I am never disappointed with what I get. The enemies to lovers is serious and isn’t one of those books that make up straight away. I usually get so annoyed when that happens and I loved how this didn’t do that. If you are looking at the audiobook and wondering about the two narrators, I will just warn you that there are only two chapters that are in the point of view of Stone which was disappointing that there weren’t more but what there is just makes you savour it more and they are awesome two chapters in the book. This whole book was amazing to listen to and usually I have trouble writing in a review and just say some random things but this book is in my favourites because I think I could probably write at least a page on this book. I definitely don't regret reading this book and would recommend it to those that love this genre. I loved listening to this book!
