Publisher's summary

Pike Logan must stop a deranged killer hell-bent on igniting an international conflagration in this explosive, action-packed thriller from New York Times bestselling author and former special forces officer, Brad Taylor.

When a paragliding trip over the picturesque mountains of Switzerland results in the brutal murder of the former head of Israeli intelligence, Mossad brings in terrorist hunters Aaron and Shoshana to investigate. But they'll need help to find out who was behind the attack and what they’re planning next. Luckily, Aaron and Shoshana know exactly who to call.

Taskforce operators Pike Logan and Jennifer Cahill have been trapped in Charleston, South Carolina during COVID-19, so when Aaron and Shoshana show up on their doorstep with Israeli passports and a new mission, they jump at the chance to assist their friends. Some suspect that Keta’ib Hezbollah, an Iranian-funded militia group operating in Iraq, might be responsible for the “accidental” deaths of key members of the American and Israeli governments. But something isn’t adding up, and Pike, Jennifer, and the two Mossad operators are determined to find the real assassins before more people are cut down.

As they stumble upon the trail of a serial killer loose on the streets of Rome connected to the deaths and follow evidence leading to the exalted Knights of Malta, they must wade deep into the contentious religious and political fractures of Israel and the greater Middle East. It’s a dangerous world where fanatics and legitimate organizations exist side by side, and it’s up to the Taskforce to determine who is really pulling the strings. What they find could have disastrous consequences not only for them, but for the entire world…

Said said said said said, ad nauseam

I said and she said then I said but he said so I said and Aaron said and the investigator said therefore I said what Jennifer said and she said what Shoshana said then I said and I said and I said and I said and I said and I said…
Brad Taylor is not a good writer. Nevertheless, despite the egregious overuse of the aforesaid past participle, and some hackneyed dialogue, the story is actually quite good.
If you’re able to ignore the myriad saids, you’ll probably enjoy this book. If listening to myriad saids drives you to the brink of insanity, I’d recommend skipping this book.
Orlow’s outstanding narration gets 4-stars because he emphasizes every “said”.

Captivating tale that was all too realistic and very well researched.

Book Review - Brad Taylor’s “End of Days” is the sixteenth thriller of the Pike Logan series and was an outstanding listen! Pike Logan and Jennifer Cahill team up with Israeli Mossad friends Aaron and Shoshana to try and stop terrorists from bringing on ‘Armageddon’ between the Israelis and the rest of the Middle East. A deranged terrorist leader and his group try to cause a world war by creating the ‘end of days’ according to the Bible prophecy in the Book of Revelation. An overwhelming majority of thrillers involving terrorism have featured Islamic extremists and Taylor reminds us in this exciting story that this radical villain does have a monopoly on ‘crazy’. Nevertheless, the plot, storyline and character development were brilliant! One of the best characters Taylor has created in the series is the Israeli Mossad team of Aaron and Shoshana. Because of them, Taylor has developed an almost endless supply of storylines when they join with the Taskforce. Shoshana’s character is mystical, she is a puzzle wrapped in an enigma. The contrast between the fearless apex predator with the emotional maturity of a teenager is endlessly fascinating. She just wants to be loved like everyone else, yet she's like no one else. I absolutely love her character and the humorous bantering between she and Pike. Although End of Days was a little lighter on the action and more on the history and politics than previous Pike Logan novels, the story was one of Taylor’s most suspenseful and well thought out narratives. It was a captivating geopolitical tale that was all too realistic and very well researched. It's well-written, extremely well narrated with a lot of well-placed humor and some serious history lessons on Middle East politics. Taylor continues to cement himself as one of the best in the thriller genre. End of Days was a good mix of Middle East politics, religion with some sufficient action. Great narration/read. Loved it!

Oh this is my first Brad Taylor book although he is a American hero. I also wanted you to know this is my first written review. IDK if you had to listen to the pike Logan series in order but please refrain from buying this book it’s sooooooooo horribly written I almost couldn’t listen. And I said then she said and he said. Wtf!!!!! I feel like I don’t even remember the story because of how bad the writing was. Sorry Mr. Taylor thank you for your service

Slightly above average at best

Still a great performance, story just slightly above average. Getting a little robotic with the storyline. Something needs to shake up. Some new dynamics or change.

Another fabulous Pike Logan

Despite what other reviewers say, this was quite enjoyable. I especially like how they developed the relationships between all the team members. I hope they do more with Shoshanna & Aaron!

Awful narration

As stated by another review the story is quite good, however all the I said, she said implied contextual is overdone to Nth degree. The narrator was trying to overdo it as though he was a voice actor, rather than altering his inflection and fake accent. The narrator assumed the protagonist was a deep voiced idiot macho type, rather than a refined intellectual. In short good book ruined by atrocious narration and novice level author overstating obvious with little understanding or research of clandestine operations.

very god story with Classic Pike's sarcastic humor

Definitely held my interest and was a very good Story. narrator does a very good job on voices, but could tell it was a struggle differentiating between the Israeli voices. with the emphasis on the female characters it would have been good to add a female narrator.
