Publisher's summary

Eat to Love is a joyful, non-diet approach to mindfulness, intuitive eating, and falling in love with the body you live in.

In Eat to Love, nutritionist Jenna Hollenstein leads a spiritual revolution against pervasive attitudes towards food and dieting, and demonstrates how to free your mind from the fear, frustration, and shame often associated with eating. Through a series of revelatory exercises, along with simple instructions for time-proven mindfulness and meditation techniques, you'll learn to identify prejudices around eating and reset your relationship with food. Eat to Love is not a diet book, not a "clean eating" manual, and not a guide to "being your best self." Rather, it is a liberating path to sanity, and to loving the body you have right now.

Since early childhood, many of us have heard that something is wrong with our bodies: with the way they look, the way they feel and the food we crave. This diet culture - surrounding us in the form of media, fashion, food trends, and even messages from friends and family - tells us that the only way to be happy is to be thin and to rigidly follow the latest eating dogma. Eat to Love challenges this insidious, pervasive messaging and resets your relationship with food from one that's shameful to one that's nourishing, liberating, and enriching.

Kind and Compassionate

I loved this approach to gently acknowledging less helpful approaches to food from my past and allowing changes within while still loving myself. Thank you!

How did you know me so well?!

I have read several anti-diet books but this is the best I have come across so far. I feel like this book was specifically meant for me somehow. I am on a path of self care by meditating and practicing yoga to reconnect with myself. I have been hard on myself for too long to fit into some fantasy body I think I should have instead of being grateful for the one I have. This is a must read/listen!

You deserve to Eat to Love!

For the first time in my life, I have found a book about food and being and eating that makes perfect sense. For the first time in my life, I'm given the data and permission to not blame myself and turn towards myself with gentleness. This book leads us to an uncommon, common sense approach to our own inner wisdom. Jenna's research and supportive guidance covers all the bases. Her depth of feeling and intelligence and the wisdom of her experiences are evident in her writing and reading.

Life changing for me

This is the book that really catapulted my intuitive eating journey. I had the pleasure of taking a nutrition class with the author, and she taught us so much. I also enjoy her free weekly meditations for intuitive eaters. I feel like Jenna's work has helped me to get unstuck in a lot of ways. I hope this encourages someone as well. Highly recommend!

Radical Self-Love for the Wounded Feminine

It's a shocking discovery to realize I've spent most of my ife trying to be something I'm not under the guise of health, dutifully absorbing the messaging around me and unwittingly passing down my nutritional righteousness to my children distorting their budding relationship with food and their bodies. This book is a gateway to a journey of rediscovering your body, your feeling, experiential body full of information and wisdom, a reconnecting with your senses, getting out of your head and meeting your inner expert. Imagine living an embodied experience freed from the dogma of rigid beauty norms and society's obsession with immortality. This radical idea of loving and appreciating your body and tuning in to its signals is so timely for the modern woman confronting the dysfunctional story she's been fed. This book is food for the soul.

Political views

Although this book had some good information it was ruined by her inserting her very leftist policewoman views. Page 17 she talks about how Hillary should have won the election because she wa sure only qualified candidate, I would date Kena to go toe to toe with President Trump, she would never survive.Hilliary is the worst role model for women PERIOD but I digress, she also spends a fair amount of time on patriarchy and tos role in fat culture .... I wish she had stuck to the content and kept her personal political views out of this book.... it totally ruined it for me

Oh how I wanted to keep enjoying, I stopped

Why oh why can’t the. Author keep out of politics. I’m an independent thinker and registered voter. Why does every person with a stage think they have to jam the decisive political arena into everything. Never escaping the hate
