Madoc is in a tough spot. He needs a wealthy wife to help save the estate he has inherited. The estate in is trouble largely due to the deeds of a corrupt steward. Evelina, the daughter of a wealthy merchant, may have the kind of dowry he needs. Both of them would really like to marry for love. When the two of them meet, there is an instant connection. They make a wonderful couple. His need for the dowry causes some concern, mostly for Madoc, but with advice from his mother and help from her father, the couple has a chance for a wonderful HEA. Narration by Harry Frost is enjoyable. A very nice addition to the Wicked Earls and Once Upon a Widow series.
