Publisher's Summary

Duty Calls continues the story of Nic, Mal, Jazz, and Jade as they fight to hold what belongs to them. The Corporations are becoming more aggressive in their effort to steal their inventions. Our four friends are matching the corporate's aggression blow for blow. The fight has already turned deadly, and the Corporation has shown they aren't afraid to spill blood. Nic has shown restraint, but the gloves are about to come off. They've gone after his family, and that's the one thing he will not tolerate.

Fun story, but only two books in "trilogy"

Some of the characters are still flat and say a lot of cliché stuff. I really like that I can’t figure out where the story is going as plot twists keep me engaged. Too bad the author has lost focus on this series and there is no telling when the third book will be coming out, if ever. I would have not started listening to this trilogy if I had realized that the third book had not yet been written.

I love the balance!

Everything James Haddock writes is good so it comes as no surprise that "Duty Calls" is stellar! Theres always a good balance between action and development in his books that leaves you begging to see what happens next. In honor of the author they should really name the first new world we find "Haddock". It seems like it'd be only fair.

Sci-Fi Space opera

This is a trilogy but as yet no book three. It was enjoyable to have both a male female narrating the story. So cudos to Woods and Wisniewski for there work.
I have purchased all of the james Haddock stories released in the Audible format. Most leave the ending open as if there were another book coming or following but sadly this has not been the case. Which to me disappointing either written or in audible format.

Awesome sequel can’t wait for the next book

This book is an excellent continuation of the first book in the series. I can’t wait for the next one.

I recommend this book/series/ author to fans of Kevin Steverson and Chris Kennedy and their series. This story and these 3 authors are excellent.

I really enjoy this series

Despite the overuse and focus on the 'family' theme making me chuckle because I expect Dominic Torretto to show up, I quite enjoy this series.

Everything seems to come a little too easily to the two geniuses, and the way they outmaneuver their enemies is a bit too... simple and unimaginative, but stories don't always need to be filled with tension and suspense for me to enjoy them.

Sometimes I like a rags to riches story where the protagonists are highly competent and mostly 'stomp' their opposition. It's an easy, if not entirely memorable listen.

Not particularly good - not terrible

Where to start. The book is consistent, no gaping plot holes. Characters are flat. Everyone has a happy family or is in the process of getting one. Everyone plays nice with each other. The bad guys are bad, the good guys run circles around them. Nothing bad really ever happens to the good guys. Every plan they dream up they pull off without a hitch.

The one thing this book does well is make you angry at the big corps and government. That's the hook. That's how they keep you reading.

As a side note: the author is missing one important thing about science and how it works: if they discovered a new wonder additive that made things stronger, they would have tried adding it to everything. Nobody would miss it's electrical properties. And prime percentages makes no sense (since they are a fraction based on base 10, which is not prime or special).

Great 2nd Installment

Once again an excellent story! A lot of setting up for the final book in the trilogy. The characters are well written and with wonderful male & female narration making it a pleasure to listen to. Please, please give us the final book!
