Publisher's summary

Nic Haydock, “Nac” to his friends, because, as they said, saying he had a knack for fixing and improving mechanical devices was the understatement of all time. After spending 10 years on Titan where he went through rehab and attended college, he was now returning home to Conclave Station. A freak meteor storm had virtually destroyed the rock-tug his family called home, killing his parents and taking his arm and leg. Reuniting with his lifelong friends - Mal, a computer genius, and Jazz, a natural-born pilot, he started a mining and shipping business. However, while repairing their rock-tug, they stumbled upon a way to control artificial gravity, creating a gravitational force field.

The massive and powerful Corporation found out about the new tech and realized it will change the balance of power, something its managers can’t allow to happen. Everyone wants this new tech and are willing to do anything to get it. When his friends are almost killed, Nic begins to take it personally and starts using their tactics against them. It soon becomes a no-holds-barred shooting war that spans the Solar System.

Cool Story, but only two books in the "trilogy"

It was a great idea for a story, lost of twists and turn to keep you guessing. The one thin that brought the story down was the two women Jazz, and Jade were air heads, even though they were pilots they didn't understand the workings of their own ships. They seem to be there to make stereotypical snide comments, fly around and to shop for clothes and shoes. Too bad the author has lost focus on this series and there is no telling when the third book will be coming out, if ever. I would have not started listening to this trilogy if I had realized that the third book had not yet been written.

Very worth

I will always loves a good sci-fi book, and I like that this book feels like it's focused on those who are advance technology. Main character makes me think of Benjamin Franklin in the sense that somethings are obvious but you need to be in the right mindset to get puzzle out what is possible while others just ignore things labelled normal, and the results can vary.

Not worth reading just so you can hate the bad guy

The problem with this book is simple. The plot: Dude makes/finds a shiny, bully wants to take it. You the reader are encouraged to hate the bully. Rinse and repeat. The second book is more of the same but more obvious. Nothing is particularly unexpected, plans don't go sideways. Just as an FYI, scientists are insanely inquisitive, there is no way they would have fielded tech without exploring how it fails. Unexplained phenomenon in science don't survive in products for long without being explored to death.

company builder

Not a large amount of action in this novel. however it does go into some pretty decent detail on building a company from the ground up in story form. Does a fat kid like cake?

Another "Remove From Library" book

Imagine if everything you, and your friends did or could do was absolutely perfect, and the best that could ever possibly be done. There you go. Imagine, allegedly hyper intelligent pilots, who talked like 11 year old valley girls. Everything comes so easy, with no struggle, and I am getting as bored writing this, as I did trying to slog through it. I gave the female narrator 3 stars, because it wasn't her fault the dialog she was given for her parts could have been any worse. To be honest, my review is based on about 1/2 the book, as I couldn't stand it any more. Audible is going to be cancelled soon.

Always win protagonist

I like the book and the narration is top notch. The story isn’t overplayed but nothing terribly original. What I don’t like is the protagonist always comes out WAY on top, WAY overly lucky. It reminds me of the Hunter Legacy series. Well written except this big flaw. Despite this I will be continuing with the series.

I loved the multi voice narration

I’ve enjoyed these first two books, anxiously looking forward to the third installment. I hope a large notice goes out when that comes out.

Very enjoyable story

Great story but sometimes the reading was a bit confusing, but difficult to tell who was talking but overall a very good story.

Must Read!

Love, love, loved this book. Great story that pulled me in immediately. Became invested in characters early and enjoyed the pace of the action. I'm heading straight over to Bk 2 to follow the characters adventures.
