Not all enemies are Demons....
Jace Black is a wanted man; the Council and Elite Protectors are hunting him for a crime he didn’t commit. While his best friend, Elarya Storm, works to clear their names, Jace prepares forhis quest to defeat the next Greater Dungeon.
Dodging Protectors, Jace and his Party head to Rhoass where they meet new acquaintances who help them on their way. But deceit and intrigue stalk Jace, and the closer he gets to completing his quest, the more he realizes not everyone wants him to succeed.
Closing the first Greater Dungeon had unforeseen consequences that threaten the Protectors’ way of life, and many blame Jace. As opposition mounts and the dungeon level-up program spreads across the globe, fear and mistrust make it increasingly difficult to tell friend from foe. The situation grows more dangerous than he could’ve imagined, and Jace must decide how far he’ll go to save the lives of those around him.
What will he have to sacrifice to save the world?
Includes bonus story Eye of the Storm.

The plot stays on task even if there is left room to explore the world and add to it's lore...
new characters with their own motivations and feelings...
Steve does an amazing job bringing the story to life and I honestly can't think of anyone better to do so
great sequel

Again the setting and action holds the book up from being bad but....if your main character is unlikable whats the point of continuing to read the story. Jason our main antagonist is, selfish, naive, ignorant, childish, and whines continuously.
I accepted this in the first book because its gives him so much room to grow as a character but...I'm not seeing growth I'm seeing more of the same.
Second thing that earned a lower rating is the realism. There is none. the people in charge who "capture" them don't behave as you'd expect. They free them instead of study them or hold them...ok sure.. but when a leader of an entire nation joins the party what do they do. They go into the dungeon with one revive. When the government says please help close the high dungeon does it give them equipment and revives.. nope gives them no help at all.
Last greater demon and dungeon messes with their minds yet they didn't prepare for same sort of shit in this one. They have two healers this time but party is always on verge of death more so then when they had one.
All in all, weak book, could have been great, very disappointing.
No mental growth at all

This book broke my heart. I did not see those events coming but I understand why they had to happen. They're just a bit tough to go through. And those made the story way better. I did not regret the tears.
As always, Steve Campbell did an amazing narration with this one. He's just so talented!
