Publisher's Summary

I just sped across the galaxy to a strange planet,

upgraded my first alien racer girl,

and now will race to my inevitable death.

I, Lorean Michaels, a budding stunt driver, just travelled back home after my father's passing to find I was left a unique vehicle. Never did I think that very car would take me places beyond my wildest dreams. Now, I must protect a team of high-octane women, unlock transformations, and ultimately win their freedom.

However, there is something more than just ravenous racers wanting me dead in twisted metal fashion: Perhaps winning isn't everything I had imagined.

Driver Mach 1 is a rush of LitRPG and Harem flavors harking back to M.A.S.K., Transformers, and Back to the Future. Crunchy character stats are present, with most being consolidated into a quick view feature with endnotes.

Great performance, story was fun but needs focus

This was a very fun listen. I loved the performance, his voice was a great match for the character and added to the understanding of his attitudes and motivation..

My only complaint about the story was that is needed some focus. It's trying to be a game lit, a harem story, and an exciting race experience. This is a little too wide a focus, I'd love to see it have a little more focus to help expand one of those three more and make that the main focus of the story.

Pretty good!

I want sure about this, but ultimately enjoyed it. There are a lot of Back to the Future references. I thought the story was a bit light in areas and could have been expounded upon better. However, I looked it and will look for more of they come to audible.

amazing

I didn't believe that I would find that I would love this book about driving even though it was a harem lip RPGs. I enjoyed the fact that you brought the 80 movies quotes it really made this book hit home

an excellent fresh take on the genre

for those familiar with the harem gamelit genre, you will find all the elements u love, along with some new and interesting twists. hot transformer grls. author has a good mix of explicit and fade to black, along with excellent focus on details of "scenery" in between. I'd recommend it. hands down

A fun romp of a story

Grow up loving the BTTF movies ? wanted to become a stunt car driver when you grew up ? Had Fevered sexy time dreams involving transformers and/or cars ? and also like the old Death race movies ? Yes to all of that you say ? Well.. my friend this is most certainly a book tailor written for you. I happen to be one such person, so this book was a lot of fun for me.

amazing story with awesome characters

I grew up watching old Saturday cartoons and loved the nostalgia feel of racing and transforming robots. Christian did an amazing job with the characters.

great

So many nods and references to back to the future. The study premise was interesting and decently executed however there were areas that were a bit lacking in details that I wish had been more detailed, it was almost unfocused at times. It was a fun book nonetheless. A very unique concept for the litrpg/harem genre with good rising action/climax and action sequences. Fast paced once it gets down to business and leaves you hanging on every word. The narrator performed great , good vocal range and character differentiation. Good audio quality. All around a fun light read.

Sexy Transformers? YES Please.

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A somewhat unique concept for a harem book, with an ok story, old sci fi references and good action sequences. Christian J. Gilliland did a good job with the narration.

Another great LitRPG series.

I’ve been listening to litRPG books for a year or two now so I’m always interested when a new author/narrator/series is brought to my attention.

It was the narrator who popped up in my Reddit feed this time. I popped over to Audible and listened to the sample. I didn’t even finish the sample before I downloaded the book.

I have a few series that I’m working through and had actually finished the latest book in one series just before finding out about this one, so the timing was perfect.

I’ve now got a new series to add to my regular listening.

The writing is great, the narration is great, the production is great. One nice touch is the reverb added when a voice is supposedly coming from a loudspeaker.

The characters are well formed and as new characters are introduced you quickly feel the appropriate emotions depending on their part in the story.

This is the first book I’ve listened to by both the author and the narrator. It won’t be my last from either. I’ve already got a few lined up in my wish list for the next space in my reading cycle.

Great work all around.

awesome read

filled to the brim with 80s references a thoroughly enjoyable listen, looking forward to a second and third listen. MC has the feel of Burt Reynolds crossed with the dukes of hazard. really enjoyed it even more than I thought I would.
