Publisher's summary

If she can’t bond with a dragon she’ll be expelled for good....

After three unsuccessful terms at Alveria’s Dragon Akademy, 17-year-old tamer trainee Mari has one last chance to bond with a dragon. If she fails, her dream of joining the Dragon Guard alongside the troubled Crown Prince, will be over for good. And that is not something she's willing to accept.

Prince Kai has been stuck in his dragon form for two years, making any normal public life impossible. Unable to shift back into human form, he fears he will lose control of his magic as his draconian instincts grow more powerful every day. He's burnt through dozens of tamers, so when Mari appears at the palace he's intrigued by her determination, but certain it will be another flop.

When a sudden sickness spreads through the land and new, shadow-born monsters terrorize Alveria, Mari and Kai might be the only people who can stop it. But Mari’s hiding a secret connection to the beasts, and it may already be too late....

Can they form a bond and stop Alveria from falling into chaos?

Queen of the Dragons Ava Richardson invites you to immerse yourself in a dragon-filled world with epic magic, fearless heroes and, at its heart, the deep bond between dragon and rider.

Narrator problems

Book wasn’t bad but the narrator was not good for this book. The same narrator from previous series should continue.

The third part of Alveria Dragon Akademy

A little bit less revolving around the Akademy. Same concept as the others “girl meets dragon and the bond” but I am hurting my brain trying to figure out where down the line this crown prince is from previous books. Is his dad the child of one of the children in previous books? Is this a couple generations later? If someone knows, tell me! Lol. This narrator is not (to me) as good as the one for other books. It’s too easy for me to space off when listening to her and I have to repeat the chapter or section because I wasn’t paying attention. I wish this came in a box set like the others too. That would be awesome!

Good series so far

I didn’t initially like this narrator when I heard her for another Ava Richardson series but she has grown on me since.

Very enjoyable story

I really liked this story, not as fond of the narrator. Looking forward to book 2. Overall an enjoyable read with characters you want to cheer for.

Another fantastic book and series!

I've always loved the dragon academy series' and this is no exception. This book shows true promise, and once I'm able to listen to the next two books, I guarantee they will be as good if not better than this one!

it's a truly beautiful story, that shows the one thing that most everyone should understand, you can't live with fear, let It control you. Otherwise chaos will reign. I can't wait to see what other cameos might appear in the next book, the cameos that appeared in this book were unexpected but totally sweet, I absolutely love the world Ava Richardson is building around this series and those around it, and honestly, I hope it never ends. So go ahead, try the series out because I guarantee you'll love it.

Terrible Narrator

I've enjoyed this series, but the narrator on this book was really hard to listen to. She made the voices way too high and squeaky. This made it hard for me to stay focused in the story.
