Story is just one disaster after another

I realize to make the book interesting the characters have to work through multiple problems and disasters, but come on this many back to back??? Makes the story not very believable. I have listened from book 1 to book 15 and though I would like to know the ending the story line is irritating me with how long drawn out all the disasters are layer up one on top of the other.

Amel hasn't been in school, like, forever

Enemies are everywhere; hordes of Orcs or whatever. Black hats beguile the crowds. Shifting sands of truth thankfully can be navigated by the veritus serum of prophecy and dragon speech. Non-stop action; Amel might catch rest in a cave, in a prison cage or as a slave, but never long enough for me to catch up.
A good primer for clichés and tropes, couched in simple and repetitive vocabulary. In this set of 5 chapters I felt less annoyance at awkward narrational delivery. While waiting for an omnibus of the next chapters, I stepped over to listen to Dark Lord of Derkholm (Diana Wynn Jones). Great palliative for my listening ailment.

I love this story!

I love this story, the characters are well developed by this time.

The reason I gave this a 4 is because of the reader. She read choppy in much of the 15 books. Like a child would read. If I wasn't enjoy the story so much I would not have gone on after the first book. I rarely give a review, much less a bad one, but just had to warn readers.

Job well done on the story, Sarah!

good series

The story line was good. Could of been better if the main character didn't always contradicting herself. It was like she has no self worth. She thought everything was her fault.

Wonderful!

Oh my. This series is amazing. My kids and I are still reading through and will finish the last set soon. There is so much going on with Amel, Roc, Huberic, Sevet, Lang....I love them all. We even meet some scary crazy new characters. There are some seriously ingenious things that the author comes up with to save the day at times, but that being said, our hero doesn't always win. There is a ton going on including travel to a different country.
I love the twists the author throws in and some of the new characters are really great. Some of them not so much but it does make things even more interesting to see how Amel is going to get out of certain scrapes. I love how devoted she is to her friends, her cause, and her dragon. I can't believe I haven't mentioned Reyolken (sp?) yet. He is still amazing and really the one who keeps Amel alive more often than not, but she does return the favor occasionally.
It is a solid 5/5 for my family.

Thank you to the author for the review copy of this audiobook. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

Books 11-15

Amel just keeps getting thrown into one bad situation after another... There is never a dull moment for her... And lots of dangerous situations...

Having trouble keeping straight who is good and who is bad.... I just hope she is trusting the right people.

I love the dragons and their personalities, cracks me up.

Dragon school 11-15

Dragon school 11-15.... Like the pervious one it starts where the last one finished and there is still more to come after this. Its hard tell you about it without giving lots away and there is a lot going on in this lot and some thing that you don't think is much but can also have a bearing on later in the story. I have read all the books and enjoyed then all. I prefer it when the story is back in the dominion but it could also be the way it is written as Amel wants to be back in her home country. I love the ending of this set and can't wait for the next.
