Inane stream of consciousness

“Can I steal him?”
It felt like the majority of story was airheaded Layla prattling on and on. She’s a petty criminal who first went to jail at age 5 🙄, grew up behind bars 🙄🙄, and thus was illiterate, but apparently that meant she was dim both book-wise and street-wise. Yep. Silly premise, but that tracks for the series.

“Trust me, it takes a lot of effort to shank someone with a bowl.”
This story begins with her being released from a botched, multi-year sentence for stealing a cupcake because hungry… duh. Then it’s a series of fish out of water gags as Layla has to learn about things like money and rental agreements. Embrace the ludicrous storyline and some of it was funny. I found it rather cringey that childlike Layla kept lusting over men, but the hijinks were fun.
