Publisher's summary

As a member of the RPS, Daphne Niell, also known as the Vampire of Montana, lives to serve.

On a good day, she hunts terrorists and eliminates them before they can strike.

On a bad one, His Royal Majesty of Montana, also known as her twerp of a cousin, sends her overseas to play nice with foreign monarchs.

Upon landing in Spain, the Vampire of Montana learns she’s been played, and her first job involves securing the life and liberty of everyone in a busy airport. To do her job, she needs more than just an excuse: she needs a partner.

Selecting a tall, dark, and handsome stranger from the ticketing line to become an unwitting accomplice in her plans isn’t her style, but desperate times call for drastic measures.

What she doesn’t know might kill them both and forever change the course of the Royal States—and the world.

Choppy reading. It sounds AI stitched

The reading was choppy, with disjointed intonation. It detracted from the story. It sounds like text to speech

great book and good narration

So the books great read it first and listening now for second time. not sure why people are getting wrapped around regional dialect accents that the fantasy book covers and so negates the entire book score. Personally seeing these scores and comments when the author makes a point to highlight the region taxonomy in her books is trolling.
but indicated the narrator did thier job right and presented the book as the we author designed. the world is not your local neighborhood and their are different ways to say the words otherwise we wold be using old English as an analogy.

great listen great book please buy and support the author.

Voice talent is not my cup of tea.

I read the book first and then bought the audiobook. So I was familiar with the story, which helped encourage me to fully listen to the audible. If I would have gotten this from the library, I probably would have stopped and retuned it.

The odd inflections and strange word spacing while being the main character were almost more than I could handle. I’m met a few people from Montana, and while they have a little bit of a clipped accent, the nasally inflections and strange breathing/phrasing of the story line was super challenging to work thru. I felt it too away from the story.

As Always I Love It!

I love this world the author has created and I just love this new addition to it! I love the reader and her use of Texan flair on the word foal I thought was great! I love the Vampire of Montana and her adorable Beau and their absolute tendency to loose their minds around horses 😆! I can’t wait for the next installment in the series!!

Good story bad narrator

Where was the editor. Baby horses are foals, not fowls. Fowls are birds. Couldn’t finish the book. Will certainly read it again, not listen

Loved it

I loved this book even though the pronunciation of foal was a little strange at first, once I realised it was a legitimate accent pronunciation I could accept it without a problem.

Disappointed

The story is fine but listening to the narration is like listening to a very poor AI. It’s slow choppy and boring.

Loved this story!

I loved this story and it’s characters. I always enjoy the humor in these books. I have enjoyed this series so much and love each book that comes out. I can’t wait to see what new books will come in the future.

I also love the narrators in this book that gave inflections to words that you don’t see in other books. I love when an author and narrator create a book that actually sounds like the people who live there. Shout out to Keira Grace for getting the pronunciation correctly on some of the words used. I love when accents are used correctly. Sometimes that is left out of books and I love when an author can get them.
