I'm prefacing with saying it's a cliffhanger. Not a bad one where it just ends mid sentence, but still one that you know another book is coming.

This review is a hard one for me and I'll try to do it without spoilers.

Sabrina meets Donovan and Weston in college and through 2 situations out of her control, she leaves college and also leaves both men hanging... only in very different ways. 10 years later she runs into Weston and takes a job from him, putting her in both men's paths again.

Weston is quickly taken out of the picture for Sabrina, leaving her to contend with Donovan. They have a very sordid relationship, filled with a push and pull like no other I have read.

This is what made me hate the book. I spent 75% of the audio wanting to bang my head against a wall and also just shaking my head, "why?". It's frustrating. Sabrina is, in my opinion, a weak and stupid woman. I don't think she has the self preservation needed to get herself through life successfully. And I'm not talking about her sexual proclivities. I know some people will take issue with rape fantasy, so heads up. It's in there. But that's not what made me shake my head. It was her inability to see what's in front of her face and do a simple risk/reward assessment and see that it's just not there.

THIS BEING SAID... I loved 25% of the book and the rest, although frustrating, kept me interested and I couldn't turn it off. There is something to be said with that because I have a low tolerance for books that don't keep me involved and this one most definitely did keep me involved. I can't possibly give it a low rating when I couldn't even turn it off to shower. Either I'm a glutton for punishment with this one, or there is something there. Also, I am definitely looking forward to the next book. I have to know how this crazy series ends.

Do I need to comment about Elena Wolfe? Probably not because she is perfection 100% of the time. There is not a book with her name on it that ends up with subpar narration.

LOVED LOVED LOVED FROM MIN ONE

I loved this book so much but I hate a mother sucking cliffhanger and I will stop listening to series that force me to wait years or months to get the next book. Right now I'm honestly pissed cuz the next book is not scheduled till FALL 2017. It's a great listen but wait till the complete series is out. To those authors that release series all at one time THANK YOU. You are appreciated. When I have to wait I can't recommend until it is complete. BE PATIENT WITH ME AND I WILL SUFFER FOR MY FOLLOWERS TILL THE STORY IS COMPLETE!!!! NARRATION WAS EXCELLENT

Heroine was beyond weak.

Wow, the heroine was weak to the point of being pathetic. She let him treat her like dirt and humiliate her over and over. She would be all resolved to stand up for herself and as soon as her paid her the slightest attention she caved. It was pure emotional abuse but we were expected to respect her because she was doing well professionally. Who can respect a person who is rejected over and over and still can’t resist the guy? This is not about their D/s relationship but about her absolute lack of self worth. B

Worst read ever

Very disappointing book by Laurelin Paige, I usually love her books not this one. It was all over the place, very unfocused. The characters were exhausting, whiny and adolescents. A total waste of my brain cells. Also, what was the ending about?

OMG....Cliffhanger

Had I known this was a cliffhanger, I would have never purchased it. Why the hell do these authors continue to do this to us......how the hell are people like me without lives supposed to wait until God knows when the next book is released. SOB......... wasted hours on this book, how... someone please explain how am I supposed to get a good night's sleep waiting to find out what happened next? (I have to talk myself out of this funk). Now that I have gotten that off my chest, I am ready to act like an adult (deep breaths). Other than that, the book is worth every penny. I was completely hooked from the 1st sentence. I do not know how to give it a proper review without providing spoilers (especially as I am still seething with anger and disappointment). Damn it......

AN ELECTRIFYING & INTENSE STORY

Misty's review pretty much sums up how you feel while listening to this twisted unique story as it slowly unfurls.. because you hate the badboy hero, dislike the weak-willed heroine and feel uncomfortable with the fantasy rape sex scene. And yet I was completely hooked and compelled to find out more about these multi-layered characters and I gave up on sleep to uncover more about the twisted web that Laurelin Page has so skilfully written about. Because every chapter was gripping, every chapter changed the play and the ante.. and every chapter had an undercurrent.

When Sabrina first saw handsome cocky Weston King she was just a naive Freshman at College and thought he was her innocent crush.. but he became her addiction and her obsession because she watched him from the shadows as he partied and found eager willing partners. But this led Sabrina to Weston's best friend Donovan Kincade and his self-serving manipulative words of advice had the badboy quickly and unceremoniously ridding Sabrina of her v card. Sabrina didn't expect much from Donovan - and a cold brush off was all she got after the event.. but it awakened her seismic sexual connection with a man that was mysterious, secretive, damaged, frustrating and closed-off. And Donovan was totally unaware that Sabrina's obsession wasn't on Weston anymore.. she was entirely focussed on him.

However, Sabrina's scholarship was pulled and it would be ten years before she would meet Weston and Donovan (aka the dirty, filthy rich men) again and under very different circumstances.. and then the push/pull games and manipulations would start again.. along with deep secrets and dark desires. Because Donovan was as cold as he was hot, as alpha as they get and as dangerous as the devil.. and Sabrina found herself on an emotional twisted rollercoaster, on a ghost train, on a highway to nowhere and on a journey of sexual discovery.. all at once! They're obsessed with each other but Donovan keeps pushing Sabrina away and she has dark fantasies that only he can fulfil. It was a fun-fare, a battlefield, an erotic playground, a chilling thrilling smouldering powder keg and a deliciously dark brew. Donovan's rich, handsome, charismatic, drool-worthy, dominant and totally closed-off.. but what secrets lurk behind his impenetrable mask of indifference?

Worth a credit? Yes it's a gem, it's a scintillating sexy powerful multi-layered story with flawed characters you love/hate and it was told from the heroine's POV by a very talented narrator. But there was no prior warning of a CLIFFHANGER ending, no bold letters saying DUET.. and no second book until maybe SEPTEMBER..... aaarrrrrrrgh that hurts so bad.

1 star? 5 stars? I’m conflicted

I enjoyed and hated this book. The female lead is a strong, independent, successful career woman who had to grow up too quickly, giving up her dreams to raise her sister when she lost her parents. She also has an inexplicable attraction to a man who treats her like crap but gives her amazing sex. Of course orgasms are worth setting aside career and self worth but couldn’t she have held on to some vestige of independence that had served her well before surrendering to the self obsessed ‘dark warrior’?

Would you try another book from Laurelin Paige and/or Elena Wolfe?

Not sure, maybe if it is offered free on Amazon, I'd read another to see if she follows the same trend or not.

If your in to pathetic fools then this is the book for you. Sabrina is pathetic, she is pathetic in college and 10 years later she is still pathetic. The author had so many opportunities to make the book be exciting and she just didn't. Sooooooooo PATHETIC

What did you love best about Dirty Filthy Rich Men?

The cliffhanger was amazing. The story was left on a cliffhanger, but the best part was hearing Sebastian York. That just means that part 2 is going to be amazing. The book had it all. I'm glad there was more to this story then just sex and romance. It keeps you on your toes the whole time. It had a lot of back and forth, but that's what kept the book interesting

The secretary with the Hungarian accent was great. She needs more part in book two.

Which character – as performed by Elena Wolfe – was your favorite?

Donovan Kincaid was my favorite character. I really enjoyed them all. specially since Elena Wolfe has a great male voice. That helps a lot.

He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not

I got whiplash trying to keep up with Sabrina's emotions in this one. I really like Laurelin's stories but I get so frustrated because every book doesn't have to be a three part series. If I had known this was a Part 1, I probably would have skipped it, at least for now. Although, had I skipped it, I would have missed a really good story, even if it had a bit too much introspection by Sabrina. But I guess when you're dealing with obsession, which is a topic Ms. Paige often writes about, introspection is a great way to expose it. It seems as if Donovan is a master manipulator and plays some serious head games with Sabrina. One thing glossed over in this story is that she was under age when their relationship started, so Donovan was a bit of a predator. The relationship/nonrelationship between Donovan and Sabrina is worthy of a solid head shake. But yet still, I couldn't stop listening -- so maybe I'm the one with the obsession. Warning: There are some dark parts to this book, including an attempted rape and rape fantasies. Overall a very good listen.

Elena Wolfe is just an amazing narrator no matter what name she uses. She puts in a solid performance that can make any book worth listening too.

Definitely worth the credit. I am anxiously awaiting the next installment.

Dirty filthy Rich Men.

I was hoping for a happy ending for this story but it ended , i thought, extremely abruptly with no answer to the continuous ,is it going to happen is it not?theme that went on and on throughout the story.
This book used the sex scenes, I felt, too much
and emphasised also too much the obvious inability of the girl to keep changing her mind
about seeing this sexual manipulator!
I wish I had not spent so much time listening to a book which was obviously on the market for readers to enjoy the sex but had no real ending of what I had thought was a love story.
Very disappointed!

Powerful And Passionate

This is the first of Laurelin Paige’s books that I have listened to. I can't wait to start the second part in the Duet.
This is a powerful and passionate love tangle. Masterful, commanding and dominating.
Elena Wolfe's performance brings this story alive.
I'm gripped!

I read this book on my Kindle ages ago, so decided to download the audio!!!!

Elena Wolfe is a good narrator she got all other characters spot on!!!

If You Want a book with lots of angst and twists and turns with explicit sex which keep you totally addicted then this book is for you.

Can't Wait to read/listen to book 2 and can't wait for Weston' s story!!!!
