Publisher's Summary

For once no one wants to kill Samantha Martin. She's free to do all the things a mischievous imp loves to do- like remove all the county speed limit signs, and wrap City Hall in crime scene tape. Her only worry beyond organizing the delivery of her boyfriend's birthday present, is writing those pesky four nine five reports for the Ruling Council of Angels. But imps can never stay out of trouble for long. Demon corpses have been found drained of all energy, their spirit selves ripped clean from their bodies. Sam's angel, Gregory, considers her a prime suspect, so when an angel is discovered dead in the same manner, he drags her to Seattle and Juneau to try to clear her name. The race is on to find the murderer before Sam's secret is exposed and she's blamed for the deaths. But is a devouring spirit really the killer, or is there more to the deaths than either Sam or Gregory suspect?

Great story... I need more

loved the story line, wish she would make the other stories available. fast paced, and love the demon nature which was getting a little sweeter towards the end.

& Debra Dunbar falls into the category of FAILED AUTHOR

This is the WORST BOOK WRITTEN BY DEBRA DUNBAR!! The first 3 books started out as decent, entertaining, and very funny. This book (if it evens rates being called a book) falls on its butt. She disregards the rules she established in the first and second book. The binding with the angel, the amount of raw energy she holds, the owning of sam martins soul, the separation of her spirit energy and the raw energy and how she says describes the only way demons can commit suicide. The contradictions are endless. Also the storyline drags on and on and on with zero satisfaction at the end. There is non stop ignorant actions that Dumbar makes her main character do that is out of line with her personality, how she thinks and acts, and how generally operates in books 1 - 3. Its like she didnt put any real thought into this book. She just tossed a bunch of junk together to meet a publishing deadline. It is deplorable compared to the beginning of this series. I will not buy another of her books.
And...Angela Rysk (the narrator) is still a linguistic terrorist. 4 books now she has voiced and has yet to double check the proper pronunciations of the uncommonly used words in this series. I will not purchase any future audiobooks she narrates. Put a little pride in what you do. Because if it is worth doing once, then its worth doing it correctly!

Fantastic

I realized that I never added my reviews to Audible for this series so I am correcting that now.

Book 4 is fantastic. The big action scenes had me up and pacing the house while I read. I'm so in love with Sam and Gregory together. I really hope the future books bring more permanence for them together. The ending is semi abrupt but I know it will pick right back up in book 5. I think I might need a bit of a break though before I continue this series. I recommend this series to anyone who loves fantasy and urban fantasy. It's a fun read.
I wasn't fond of how the narrator read in the first 3 books, but she did a good job with this book. I recommend it.

Series getting better with each book.

Some series gets better with each book and this series is one of them. I can't wait to read the next book. Sam grows with each series which is good in my opinion, but I still like to see the bit of the devil she shows to harasse people and angels. It is good to see all the side characters too. I see that the author has written a spin off series about Amelia the half demon, half elf girl. I would be happy to see Amazon get this on audio too. The only thing I don't like about this series is the narrator she reads it too slow in which case I put my player on fast and that works for me.

A mage, an angel and a demon team up!

Devil's Paw
Imp, Book 4
By: Debra Dunbar
Narrated by: Angela Rysk
Series: Imp World, Book 5, Imp Series, Book 4
"Cockroach" is chased and almost killed by a team consisting of a mage, a demon and an angel. She almost dies. She fights and kills one, not the angel of course. Being a lowly imp, she doesn't have that much power. Gregory, the archangel she is bond to, thinks she killed some demons and an angel because of how they are found. She wants to help him track down the real killers to prove her innocence. Action, suspense, humor, romance, and mysteries, along with supernatural characters make this a great book and fun series.
Wonderful narration!

an enjoyable series continues

Would you listen to Devil's Paw again? Why?

Possibly but not for some time I dont often go back and listen again or read again books but this series is one I might consider again in future. The book itself is one in a series and I probably wouldnt listen to it on its own. Its a nice story though with good humour

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sam - she is just such a likeable character and has a great sense of humour and adventure

What three words best describe Angela Rysk’s voice?

It took a while but I actually do think the voice is quite good for these books - not sure if Angela got better or I have got used to it - perfect for Sam - not quite so good for male voices but now I wouldnt want anyone else narrating the series

Any additional comments?

I would recommend this book only if you have previously read the first 3 books in the series as it follows on and would be hard to pick up on its own. If you enjoyed the others then you will probably like this one as well
