“Despite Herself” by Jessie Chandler, Narrated by Vivienne Page

This book is absolutely wonderful. It’s a slow burn with some great twists and turns! Rebecca (Bec) and Theodora (Theo) are both dealing with painful pasts but can’t deny their attraction. Their journey to love was a real treat! Vivienne Page did a wonderful job being the characters to life.

I really enjoyed that Minnesota landmarks provided the location for multiple parts of this excellent story by author Jessie Chandler. I enjoyed the main characters, Bec (a Duluth police detective) and Theo (bar owner), immensely, and still have to chuckle at how they met - no spoilers here!.

I read the paperback when this book first came out and liked it enough to get the audio version, and enjoyed it even more. The excellent narration by Vivienne Page was perfect for the characters and their story.

Some romance, some police work, some touch and go drama, and some great Minnesota locations - highly recommend this one!
