A fantastic book on how our industry is being transformed RIGHT NOW. This book will explain why so many changes are happening in the restaurant industry and explains how shifting trends in consumer behavior is creating a do or die moment for restaurants. Brilliant insight into a competitive future

Brilliant insight as our restaurant industry is experiencing many shifts in guest behavior right before our eyes as we see this future become a reality. The authors highlight the necessary partnerships and tech required to thrive based on how Americans desire to eat and feed their families. What we hate, love, and must embrace for optimal future success. Online ordering will be a requirement for tomorrow's traditional family, who don't spend much time eating. The authors point out that Millennials and members of Generation Z spend significant amounts of their monthly income on restaurant meals. They want to eat what they want, whenever they want it, so they order online; for these digital natives, delivery is the new drive-thru. We must embrace drivers as part of our team.

Changing the way we think about service

Delivering the Digital Restaurant is poised to help all restauranteurs, small & large, think differently about the changing landscape of the restaurant experience. In my work supporting restaurants around the country the same challenges face them all... How do we continue to deliver an excellent dine in experience, for those who want it, while also support the ever changing digital/Off prem experience. In this book the details of the seismic shift of behavior and expectations for consumers is clearly outlined, but what is most useful is a clear perspective on how to adapt your restaurant to meet the needs of all of your customers both on and off prem! The comparison to the disruption that happened in the retail industry is uncanny and this book helps unpack the key learnings from that transition to inform how we must adapt as restaurateurs. In 20 years we will all look back and see the changes that the restaurant industry experienced during this unprecedented time. I predict we will see restaurants that are flourishing with both dine in & delivery, meeting the needs of each unique customer. At the foundation of that successful transition will be those who read & applied the learnings in Delivering the Digital Restaurant!

Great book to cut through the noise

Delivering the digital restaurant is a great book for anyone interested in food industry. It succinctly captures the sea-change that's occurred in the hospitality industry pre and post-COVID. If you plan on opening a restaurant, servicing a restaurant, dining at a restaurant or eating food in general, this book is a must read.

Don’t wait!

I wish I had not waited to give this book a go - you will too. It contains tons of info on the restaurant industry, alongside a plethora of insights on the challenges of the industry. The book provides a framework for driving innovation in the space, and can definitely be a staple in works detailing the industry.
