This was a good listen. The story was narrated well and was quite entertaining too.

Would you consider the audio edition of Defender to be better than the print version?

Yes, the reading of the book added depth and texture to the characters and to the action.

Have you listened to any of Wayne Thompson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to other performances by Mr. Thompson and this has to be his best. He had so many characters to deal with but he did a masterful job giving personality to each of them. I particularly enjoyed his use of sarcasm and wit where appropriate. There could have been a tendency to go the extreme with certain characters but I think he did a great job of keeping them real. He was also consistent with his characters through what is a long book.

Crane's book is engaging and entertaining. The reading of the book brought it to life.

GOOD BOOK, HORRIBLE NARRATION

The book is OK, and the characters are easy to fault in step with. Overall, it is a good read.
But with an audio book, the one thing that can kill a great story is a bad narrator. This narrator is hum-drum, completely uninteresting. And when he tries to do any kind of accent, it is terrible. He needs to find work reading instruction manuals.

Audio book review

It would have been fine but it stopped after one chapter. I'm sure there's some lame excuse like "oh of course you have to buy it separately for each chapter." I have not the slightest interest in knowing what you're moronic reasoning may be. You burnt me for a measly 7.99. I hope you choke on it. My star rating is negative 5 stars.

Not bad but

Not what I hoped it would be somewhat of a typical storyline hero and love interest

The books are much better

I reread all the books multiple time and it always captures my attention, I was excited to hear it for the first time and relive the adventure in a new perspective. Turn out it was a huge disappointment since hearing the narrator’s monotone voice and bad accents with little differences between the characters. He sounds so uninterested which is quite unfortunate
