A riveting kidnap story
The kidnapping of George Weyerhaeuser was the talk of the Pacific Northwest in the late 1930’s. The attention to detail by the author is admirable. Juxtaposition of current times to those times was highly achievable by the author. An excellent listen all around

Incredible story in my own backyard
I enjoyed the story so much as I live in the area. Grew up knowing of the company but never heard about the kidnapping of the Weyerhaeuser child. Very interesting twists and turns. Highly recommend this story.

An Interesting Take on a Piece of Our History
I did enjoy this book. I enjoyed the topic. I was intrigued by how many other historical figures were woven into the chapter about Alcatraz. it was such a small world. Very interesting to learn about the legaI workings under Hoover. My how far down we've come since! I did enjoy the book, but did find myself losing interest, a bit, during all of the chapters about the trials. They drug on a bit. overall, a great story. Ended very well. Glad to find this.

The biggest mystery in this account of the 1935 kidnapping of a little boy is the 5 star ratings ladled out by reviewers.
