Fascinating story

This was a great book but I wish a pro had read it. I found the narration a little lacking. But an amazing story and well written and researched.

Slow Burn

Interesting case, but very drawn out in this author’s writing style. The actual people, investigation and court proceedings are really really captivating, but the main course through the plot was just a little lacking in good story telling. Everything about genealogy in forensic science and all its current breakthroughs though was truly remarkable.

The book was well written and the authors’s narration was good. Sad story. Go look up what happened with the appeals so I don’t ruin it for you.

This was an amazing book. So much so I bought a first edition hardcover to keep in my library. Well done!

Fantastic and detailed

As I listened to the book, I wondered did a journalist write this. Yes, you can tell that a journalist wrote this book because it’s very well documented. Great descriptions of the people and you get a real snapshot of what happened.

Well done and detailed

This is a fascinating true crime story with exhaustive and well detailed research, leading to the conviction of a rapist and killer, who escaped detection for far too long. The author has done an excellent job, pulling together all of the details that spanned so many years.

Fascinating.

A miracle that we can bring justice to these suffering families; and we can finally punish those responsible. This true story puts all the pieces together a good narration by the author himself.

An unexpectedly fascinating book

I purchased this book from the audible sale rack because I, like many others, am interested in true crime and shrugged and said let’s give it a whirl. Often the books I choose are pretty predictable. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how interesting this account of the double homicide was. I didn’t know much about genetic genealogy just what I had heard about its use in solving the golden state case. Humes goes into the science of this budding field and I learned a lot from his discussion. All around this was a great read, it had a lot going for it, I really became engaged with those involved and the subject in general. Great storytelling and narrating. I will definitely look for more books by this author and might even use a whole credit next time.
