The editors of Wolfsbane and Mistletoe and Many Bloody Returns deliver a new collection - including a never-before-published Sookie Stackhouse story.
New York Times best-selling authors Charlaine Harris, Katie MacAlister, Jeaniene Frost - plus Lilith Saintcrow, Jeff Abbott, and more - send postcards from the edge of the paranormal world to fans who devoured Wolfsbane and Mistletoe and Many Bloody Returns.
With an all-new Sookie Stackhouse story and 12 other original tales, editors Charlaine Harris and Toni L. P. Kelner bring together a stellar collection of tour guides who offer vacations that are frightening, funny, and touching for the fanged, the furry, the demonic, and the grotesque. Learn why it really can be an endless summer - for immortals.

Deaths excellent vacation collection

I skipped through a lot except for Two Blondes (Good story, awful reader, definitely not the Sookie voice we all know and love!), The Perils of Effrijimm (rather cute, who knew a demon liked being a dog!), Home From America (different take on leprechauns!), and Pirate Dave’s Haunted Amusement Park (Ahoy Matey!)
Still, this made for reasonably good listening as I made my daily hour-long commute to and from work.
As usual, I like Charlaine Harris & Toni L.P. Kelner…

1.Two Blondes by Charlaine Harris and Toni Reiner - Sookie and Pam practice “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” with beefcake reviews and stripper-poles.
2. The Boys Go Fishing by Sarah Smith - “I stole my wife from the iguana and pretended to be human. We went fishing and we caught loneliness.” Some sort of Chinese folktale?? I didn’t get it.
3. One for the Money by Jeanine Frost - featuring vampires Cat and Bones and the sex- focused, ditzy- girl centric flavor that showed me how not-for-me the Night Huntress series is. 1 sex scene.
4. Meanwhile, Far Across the Caspian Sea by Daniel Stashower - This one missed the point of the vacation theme; it was more of a love letter to authors and researchers.
5. The Innsmouth Nook by A. Lee Martinez A quirky tale of two men, a bed and breakfast, and creatures of the deep. Goosebumps fun. ⭐️
6. Safe and Sound by Jeff Abbott - Remember Nicole Kidman in To Die For? Like that, but with a supernatural twist.⭐️
7. Seeing is Believing by L.A. Banks - Clunky story of a shifter hunt made cringe by white-collar narration for Cajun accents and street slang.
8. The Perils of Effrijim by Katie Mac Allister - available in other several other collections, this short features dog-demon Effrijim from the Aisling Grey series, but with a different narrator. I recommend instead the same title with narrators Saskia Maarveld and Scott Aiello.
9. Thin Walls by Christopher Golden - F bombs, sex, and horror… not very original.
10. The Heart is Always Right by Lilith Saintcrow my favorite - gargoyles and a unique tale. ⭐️⭐️
11. The Demon in the Dunes by Chris Grabenstein - 1975: sex, smokes, tatas, and demons.
12. Home from America by Sharan Newman - a magic convention revelation: meh execution
13. Pirate Dave’s Haunted Amusement Park by Toni L.P. Kelner
