Rick bursting in toward the end.

Very warm and charmiing. Consumate actress played all the characters very well.

the narrator was great

the book was witty and had me laughing outloud a few times but my favorite was the narrator, she really brought the sassy Lindsey to life

Where does Death by Chocolate rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The book is one of my favorite - the whole series is awesome, very funny!

Any additional comments?

One of my favorite authors - I can hardly wait for the next in the series. I love mysteries that make me laugh and this series does that. I didn't care for the reader at first but I love the book so much I kept listening and by the end of the book she had grown on me. She is able to do different voices to distinguish between characters and that is important to me. If you don't like the reader just keep listening but if you can't get used to her just read the book - you won't be sorry.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Death by Chocolate?

When Lindsey comes to the thought that chocolate could really kill you. I really enjoyed story and the relationship between Lindsey and Tate. It was very funny and great story. Keeps you wondering.

Decent story, bad narration.

The story is fine, if a little predictable, but the narration is bad. Ms. Gregg makes her best friend sound like a hoarse mouse and the men like wooden soldiers. Painful to listen to.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The story is ok but one of the characters has a voice too painful to listen to and the lead character lets her husband just walk all over her throughout the whole book.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I would have given the main character a back bone with her ex.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I really hated the best friends voice. I would flinch every time I heard it, which is a lot.

The second book is much better.

I think it's a wonderful companion to the book. I love the way the narrator brought the nuances of the story to life. Sally Berneathy is a wonderful story teller. The narrator had the right nuance and pauses to bring Lindsay to life. Well done. Hope these team up again for another story.

Which character – as performed by Sarianna Gregg – was your favorite?

Lindsay is the bomb. So fearless!!

Fun and funny

Berneathy created an interesting cozy that holds you to the end. Gregg’s narration is good, though some of the dialogue sounds too similar causing confusion about who’s talking. Also, her male voices are so so. But her Lindsey is great. Yes - do listen! You’ll enjoy this.

Sarianna Gregg really brought Lindsey and the other characters of Death by Chocolate to life and this is a book I could listen to again!

What other book might you compare Death by Chocolate to and why?

Lindsey reminds me of the early Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich...before she became old and stale. She is fun and impulsive, if not a little too nosy for her own good. I loved the early SP series, and I think I have found a new guilty pleasure in Lindsey and Sally Berneathy!

What about Sarianna Gregg’s performance did you like?

She has so much passion and energy, she made a fun to read book even more fun to listen to.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It kept me on my toes the whole time. Just when I thought I knew what to expect, another twist popped up. I loved it!

What fun characters and a plot full of twists and turns! Just when I thought I knew what to expect Sally Berneathy threw me another curveball! As someone with an hour each way commute, I love to listen to audiobooks to pass the time, and this one made my drive pass by in a flash! I can't wait for the next book to come out as an audiobook! What a great find!

When I didn't have to heard that stupid next door neighbour!!! Her voice is AWFUL!

This would have been a great book to listen to if it wasn't for the incredibly annoying next door neighbour that sounds like 5 year old girl!!! Her stupid child's voice makes you want to slap her and tell her to grow the heck up!!! Her baby son sounds more like an adult than she does! 5 books in the series and I don't think I can take that stupid whiny voice for the next 4!
