Publisher's Summary

Meet Skulduggery Pleasant: detective, sorcerer, warrior.

Oh yes. And dead.

The Necromancers no longer need Valkyrie to be their Death Bringer, and that’s a Good Thing.

There's just one catch. There's a reason the Necromancers don’t need her any more - because they've found their Death Bringer already, the person who will dissolve the doors between life and death.

And that's a very, very Bad Thing....

Critic Reviews

"Death Bringer may have just usurped Mortal Coil and could now be my favourite book in the series." (Bookzone4boys.com)

The characters take on more depth

As Valkyrie inches toward adulthood, she begins to mature in ways that have little to do with being superhero. Of course she has to become the ultimate Ms Evil to defeat and save the ultimate Mr. Evil, while sidelining the pretender. But the real depth to this story is her realization that she has to break up with both paranormal suitors (like many girls of her status) in the same week - and grow a little in her understanding of love by not being in love. I am wondering if we have been introduced to another story arc, one lurking in mirrors.

One of my favorites in this series

I love this series and this was one of the best in it. Very engaging and hilarious side story involving a resentful zombie.

new narrators make it hard to listen

story was as good as ever but the new narrators are awful. I wish the original narrator would come back and re narrate all the books he missed

Chaotic with a touch of random

I really hope the next few books start getting a bit more organized. I would really hate to stop a series in the middle, but holy cr@p; fighting the psuedo-death bringer, fighting a stalking vampire, fighting zombies. it felt like I was reading 3 different books every step of the way!

I'm also not liking the change in narrator. got used to the first few books where Scapegrace sound more like a dumb thug and less like a whiny, high pitch brat. In fact, I feel that the voice for Valkyrie was a closer match to Scapegrace.

All in all, meh

Amazing story, kinda bad narrator

The book is amazing, too notch quality. It was the narrator I had issues with. His voice for valkyrie at times sounded exactly like stewie from family guy. It was a good laugh at first but obviously became annoying towards the end.

Fantastic

overall this was a fantastic book. Stephen Hogan has a fantastic narration voice but he tends to make Valkyrie sound a bit snobbish but that is really my only complaint.
