Story
Elizabeth Bennet does not set out to manipulate people. It's merely the correct choice of words, accompanied by an engaging smile or a beseeching look that yields the most satisfactory results. The morning after the Netherfield ball, Lizzy dispenses with one unwelcome suitor to her hand so amicably and successfully that she sees no reason why she should not make use of her talent for tactful speeches and deal with other unwelcome suitors in the same deft manner.

Story
Some form of devilry has come over Mr. Darcy. Since his father’s death, Fitzwilliam Darcy has endeavored to be reliable, responsible, and restrained. But upon visiting Netherfield Park in Hertfordshire, he finds himself weary of the struggle to be so damnably well regulated and delights in a revival of the carefree mischief that characterized his younger days. What brings on this sudden reversal? Perhaps it is a shocking incident that takes place upon his first entering the neighborhood when he rescues Miss Elizabeth Bennet from the raging current of a rain-swollen stream.

Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy has a secret. The letter he presented to Miss Elizabeth Bennet after his ghastly proposal is not the only epistle he has written her. In this tale of longing, misadventure, and love, Jane Austen’s dearly loved Pride and Prejudice, is readapted as our hero has learned a powerful way of coping with his attraction to Miss Bennet. Story
Consequences is a cautionary tale about the evils of hasty judgment, revisiting Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and one of those pivotal moments when Elizabeth Bennet throws away Mr. Darcy's offer of marriage so decisively. What transpires from that point is well-known to Austen's extensive readership, but what if even one element in the chain of events in her novel turns out differently? Does Austen's happy ending eventually come to pass, or is the outcome more bleak?

Story
A change in the circumstances of the entail leaves Elizabeth Bennet as the mistress of Longbourn, beholden to no one. Despite the tragedy that took her parents and all but one of her sisters from her, Elizabeth eventually heals, and she takes up the affairs of the estate with a flair her father never possessed. But estate ownership has its own trials, for it makes Elizabeth the target of those who might have otherwise viewed her as nothing more than a pretty vivacious girl.

Publisher's summary
“Please admire my docile and obedient nature. I will not thank you for providing us with a home, nor will I even breathe a word of gratitude for your provision of such funds as will feed us each quarter. I will not even write such platitudes as ‘You are very good,’ given that you have also provided us with respectability in the form of Mrs. Ingles. There. I am quite done now with not expressing my gratitude – I should not at all wish to prove tiresome.”
From the author of Tact, Dear Nameless Stranger is a heartwarming tale inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and Jean Webster’s Daddy Long Legs.
Tragedy has struck the Bennet sisters but they are greatly relieved when the anonymous kindness of a stranger means that they can remain together. In exchange for such charity, a monthly letter is required from each sister. It is a fortunate thing that Miss Elizabeth Bennet rather likes letter-writing, for she relishes the opportunity to relate to this unknown gentleman all her impressions and opinions regarding her changed circumstances.
With each passing month, Elizabeth confides more in the nameless stranger, and by the time Netherfield Park is once again occupied by the amiable Mr. Bingley and his friend Mr. Darcy, she is quite frank in writing of her dismay.

Charming Sister Story
Very well done. It was nice to see into the thoughts of all of the sisters. We are treated to a wholly different experience of our dear friends. Thankfully, no Caroline, Mrs. Bennet or Lady Catherine dropping in unannounced. Very little Mr. Collins ~ additional bonus there. The thoughts and feelings of the daughters are poignant and beautifully written. I was sorry it ended so quickly as there was so much more I wanted to see to fruition with Jane especially but all of the ladies. After all they had been through in the many months before the story started it would have been nice to see them all land on their feet. The narrator was enjoyable to listen to and gave the story life.

A wonderful read
I have read a many A pride and prejudice variation and have come to see that this is one of my favorites the narrator spoke very well she brought the book to life with her words and was able to bring the characters of the Bennett as well as Darcy to life. The story in itself is a wonderful read. even in the midst of tragedy the story goes and shows how one simple act of kindness can change the lives of so many if you’re in the mood for something lighthearted but immensely and deeply romantic I highly recommend this book. I bought this book I was not offered it I just found it randomly as I am a very big fan of pride and prejudice variations I hope this review me helps those just like me. I hope you all have a fun and happy read.

A jewel amongst JAFF stories.
While the first part of the book made Lizzy sparkle, the second part blew me away. The POV of her sisters not to mention Mr. Darcy's not only made me smile even laugh out loud at times, I was moved to tears more than once. Imagine Little Women but multiply its subtleness, sweetness, creativeness and emotions by a thousand.
To summarize my favourite parts would not do the word summarize justice for it would lead to numerous pages filled with unique scenes. Even JAFF affectionados who have read hundreds of P&P variations will have to admit that this story is not a weak copy of previously published plots but quite the opposite.
After reading and listening to this book, it is impossible to name my favourite character. I quite agree with Mr. Darcy at the end: I could love all Elizabeth's sisters as much as I love my siblings.
I look forward to the publishing of the audible version of Far from the tree. I had not thought it possible for Jeannie Peneaux to write another variation that could enchant me this much but she did. Far from the tree however contains many dialogues between Darcy and Lizzy that have the potential to make an audiobook most enjoyable. I wouldn't mind it being read by the same narrator for she did an excellent job.
I would have given Dear Nameless Stranger 10 stars easily and can recommend Jeannie Peneaux's P&P variations to all fans of Regency books.

Delightful!
Both the story and the narration were delightful.
The epistolary form was perfect for the story and worked really well. The sympathetic treatment of all the sisters was also appreciated, with each getting a mention and being rounded out by the author.
I will certainly look for more by her.
The reader was new to me and I enjoyed her performance very much. I would happily listen to her again.

I adore this story
I've just finished listening to it for the third time. It's such a lovely story, and so cleverly written. No doubt I will listen to it again in the future. The characters are so well written, not just Elizabeth & Darcy but all of the Bennet sisters' characters come through as we, along with Darcy, read their letters.

Ratings made me expect so much more
The fact that this book had such high ratings and praises sold me on buying it to read. And the story itself was lovely however I feel the story would have been so much nicer if it had been written in chronological order. I would have preferred to have read Darcy’s reactions to Elizabeth’s letters straight after the letter was read rather than waiting till the second half of the book and straining my brain to try to remember what it was that Elizabeth wrote and what it was he was reacting to. The ending too was way too short and it didn’t tie up loose ends. In Lizzy’s final letter there was suggestions about procuring books and paintings from longbourn but the reader will never find out if Mr Darcy was able to do so. Likewise the reader will never find out if Bingley proposed to Jane or if the Collinses get their comeuppance.
It left me feeling like I had read a first draft of an unfinished book.
PLEASE MS PENEAUX, if you could revisit this book, reorder the way it’s written, lengthen the ending and add a little passion into the Oakham Mount scene, your book would then be worthy of 5 Stars.
Note: This was the first time I have heard this narrator and was very pleased by her reading style. Five stars for the narrator.

When the Bingleys and Elizabeth visit, Darcy's peculiar sister Georgiana finds Miss Bennet to be a delightful companion.

Unbeknownst to Elizabeth, her reintroduction to the master of Pemberley is far from universally welcomed. There are others for whom prejudice is stirred up by the familiarity between Miss Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy.
