quite enjoyable.

the performance was, as always, perfect. Ms. Zimmerman is always pleasant to listen to. the story was fun, though there did come a time where the thought was "oh what now!". lots of little happenings that made the story exasperatingly endearing. I love the fact that Darcy was so often distracted by Elizabeth in the beginning that he wouldn't hear what she said, or would hear but only catch about every fifth word. not gonna lie, I would've smacked him a few times, especially early on, but that just makes it more fun.

Loved it!

I will admit, I wasn’t sure if I would like this variation. The plot sounded confusing to me, and I was actually confused for the first few chapters. But, I am very happy I kept listening because it was such a fun and lovely book.

Darcy is not canon, but likeable. Unlike the original P&P, Darcy is outspoken and bold when it comes to flirting with Elizabeth.

I also appreciated the author’s theme of gender equality, which becomes more apparent when Elizabeth spends time with Lady Lavinia.

Overall, the E&D moments are both precious and generously scattered throughout the whole book.

Why make characters more tedious?

The characters were dumbed down, allowing for extra pages, I guess. Willful ignorance is frustrating when we know the real story.
