Publisher's summary

If it wasn’t for bad luck, some of us wouldn’t have any luck at all.

Old saying, sure, but boy is it true when it comes to Adrian Ring’s zombie apocalypse. Welcome to Dead Lucky; an anthology of 12 tales set in the world of Adrian’s Undead Diary.

With stories by:
Christopher MacDonald
Rich Restucci
Chisto Healy
Jay Wilburn
Chris Leininger
Carl Meadows
J.D. Demers
Shannon Clare
And three stories written by Chris Philbrook.

Each of these clever tales revolves around the sudden appearance of luck, or a distinct lack thereof. From getting trapped in a porn store to being dragged out of your peaceful existence into a world of violence and evil, each of these stories adds to the canon of AUD.

Foreword written by Jeffrey Clare, founder and owner of All Things Zombie, and All Things Apocalyptic.

Great collection! Great narration**

I’m writing this in the hopes that DJ Leone reads this and takes some constructive criticism. I think he is an amazing narrator and I’m not up in a tizzy like others about his replacing the previous narrator. He is just as good if not better. His accents are most definitely better! Anyone bitching about the change hasn’t listened to the book and is writing their reviews out of spite. With that said… Mr Leone does need to address a few issues. Mainly putting emphasis on words not meant to be emphasized. He randomly does that and also he often pauses where pauses shouldn’t be in the narration. I think he’s trying too hard to be dramatic in some places and loses the rhythm of the writing. Just be more natural Mr Leone and I’m sure those things will iron themselves out. Keep up the great work!

Another to add to the Collection :)

I became a fan of the AUD world when it was still just a blog. I am so happy I came across it all those years ago. It is nice to see the AUD world from other survivors' eyes, no matter how sad or happy their stories. :)

Return to Form

** I was given a review copy of this audiobook**

Dead Lucky was a return to the anthology format for the Tales series andi have to say it was a welcome one. While the single stories have all been great there's not a lot of meat on the bone for those books and Dead Lucky comes in with a far more substantial word count.

The stories were well done and I was nice to see not only the backstory of one of the newer characters from the main aud series but also the backstory for the characters from the Lockey series. Even better was to see a few returning characters from the earlier tales books

When it comes to the narration I wont lie, I have been very critical of DJ Leone. I do not like him as the voice of the main series. I can't vibe with his interpretations of the classic aud characters and it has been a real struggle for me in the newer main series books. That being said I think he did a very good job on this book. Maybe it was because he was the first person to give voice to most of these characters or maybe it's because he's finally getting comfortable in the roll. Either way I hope he is able to carry this over into the main series going forward.
