Acerca de esta escucha

The third in the New York Times bestselling Maple Hills series follows fan-favorite Henry and a bookish fellow student who come up with a plan to help them both overcome their respective challenges in a difficult year.

When his procrastination lands him in a difficult class with his least favorite professor, Henry Turner knows he’s going to have to work extra hard to survive his junior year of college. And now with his new title of captain for the hockey team—which he didn’t even want—Henry absolutely cannot fail. Enter Halle Jacobs, a fellow junior who finds herself befriended by Henry when he accidentally crashes her book club.

Halle may not have the romantic pursuits of her favorite fictional leads, but she’s an academic superstar, and as soon as she hears about Henry’s problems with his class reading material, she offers to help. Too bad being a private tutor isn’t exactly ideal given her own studies, job, book club, and the novel she’s trying to write. But new experiences are the key to beating her writer’s block, and Henry’s promising to be the one to give them to her.

They just need to stick to their rule book.

Oh, and not fall in love.

Fake Dating with a Twist

It was an enjoyable end to this series. I loved seeing all the previous characters play a role in this book! It was a cute twist on fake dating. Lots of heavy topics with an anxiety representation.

This story focused on Henry and Halle. Henry is the new team captain of their school hockey team and an artist. Hali is an aspiring writer and major people pleaser. They come together to help each other out and end up becoming so much more.

I didn't love the family dynamics of the FMC, Halle. It's a trend I'm seeing that I'm not a fan of. I did enjoy the overall premise and would recommend it to those who loved the other books in the series.

Friendship matters

I love how these characters take care of each other! I was so sad to see this story come to the finish. This is now my favorite contemporary series.

I will read this multiple times!!!

I’ve enjoyed this entire series. They all gave me the feels but this one was filled with so much more. Hannah Grace is my new favorite author as she helps the readers understand mental health, family dynamics, relationships, and so much more from her characters.

A Heartfelt Romance That Shines with Imperfection

As a mood reader, I wasn’t sure *Daydream* would be a fit for me at first, but this book completely surprised me and ended up setting my mood instead. Halle Jacobs and Henry Turner are two characters who struggle to see their own worth but are incredible at reflecting each other’s strengths. Halle’s insecurities stem from her perfectionism and people-pleasing nature, as she learns to set boundaries and listen to her own needs—something Henry helps her navigate with patience and understanding.

Henry, who has his own challenges with overstimulation and expressing himself, finds in Halle someone who notices what he needs and supports him in quiet, thoughtful ways. The way these two build each other up, without ever being "perfect," is something truly special and different from so many romances out there.

Hannah Grace has captured the beauty of an imperfect relationship, where love grows even as the characters are still finding themselves. *Daydream* offers a beautiful reminder that a happily ever after doesn’t require perfection—just mutual support, growth, and acceptance. If I could give this book more than five stars, I would! It’s joining my comfort reads, and I’ll be thinking about these characters for a long time to come.

A good wrap-up of the series

Overall the story was good! Definitely a slow burn compared to the two previous books. The spice level is 2/5 on this one.

Love Henry so much

Really nice story and lovable characters. Henry is the biggest sweetheart and the narrator was perfect.

Fitting in…

I do genuinely love the Maple Hills characters. Although I found this book to be slow at times, I did enjoy the relationship. I also enjoyed the perspective of Henry. Although this still did not top Icebreaker it was good. Regardless, I will be here for all the Maple Hills drama good bad or otherwise.

It was good!!

The writing gets better every book! Icebreaker was a hard read but I enjoyed Wildfire so I read this one. The prologue almost made me cry. I love what this book stands for, as an autistic woman myself. I came into this with zero expectations and you smacked me right in the nose with some really powerful words that I heavily related to.
unfortunately, I found some of the story to be more straightforward-i do this because neurodivergent vs showing through story telling! Henry was always such a beloved character in previous books because neurodivergent people related to him from outsiders perspectives. You don't have to explicitly state every sign in the DSM for the autistic readers to relate to your characters. But that's just my preference and it didn't stop me from enjoying the book!

Male performance lacking

I understand that Henry is a person of color and the actor is as well, but the voice actor uses a AAV accent to voice other male characters that are white, that he doesn’t use for Henry himself. It’s off putting, especially after listening to the first two books. When did coach become Denzel? — On top of that, the voice actor screws up the pronunciation of Anastasia’s nickname multiple times pronouncing it like Stace of “Stacy’s mom”.
