Story
The first book of Day by Day Armageddon took us deep into the mind of a military officer and survivor as he made a New Year's resolution to start keeping a journal. The man kept his resolution and brought to us the fall of humanity, day by day. We see the man transition from the life that you and I live to the prospect of fighting for his very survival against the overwhelming hordes of the dead. We see him bleed, we see him make mistakes, we witness him evolve.

Story
A mysterious incident in Russia, a blip buried in the news - it’s the only warning humanity receives that civilization will soon be destroyed by a single, voracious virus that creates monsters of men. A lawyer, still grieving over the death of his young wife, begins to write as a form of therapy. But he never expected that his anonymous blog and journal would ultimately record humanity’s last days. Governments scramble to stop the zombie virus, people panic, so-called Safe Havens are established, the world erupts into chaos; soon it’s every man, woman, and child for themselves.

Featured Article: 20 Best Zombie Audiobooks to Satisfy Your Cravings
The rise of the living dead may be one of the most frequently explored apocalypse scenarios by modern authors, and with good reason. A great zombie audiobook combines visceral action, the distress of watching the dead rise, and the inexorability of the human will to survive. There are almost as many titles on the subject as there are zombies in each work, so it can be difficult to know where to start. You’ll find every kind of zombie scenario here.

Narrator Jay Snyder is a perfect fit!
DAY BY DAY ARMAGEDDON is an end of the word zombie apocalypse story told in journal format reminding me of I AM LEGEND but only in a less...I don’t know, lonely maybe?...sort of way. I guess the difference is while Matheson’s first hand zombie account had a very isolated hopelessness about it, Bourne’s journal entries were full of humanity and hope. The protagonist, a military pilot, isn’t left hold up on his own to slowly lose his mind with only the dead to interact with. He does move and band with other survivors and even in the despair of the situation and in the face of immense loss he seems to keep his head up for the most part. So what could have easily played out as a very depressing read, considering the topic, DAY BY DAY ARMAGEDDON didn’t leave me feeling dejected. I found J.L. Bourne’s writing to be an easy read and I liked the “fight” and resourcefulness of our pilot. I was definitely drawn in enough to be interested in continuing on with the next installment.

Freakin' AWESOME!
I've listened to a ton of audiobooks while I commute, and am a big fan of the zombie apocalypse genre. I've never written a review before, but this book was so great that I just had to write one. This book is a masterpiece. Also, the second book is probably better than the first in my opinion. I started listening to this story and was so consumed by the story that I didn't want to leave the car. I got my wife to start reading it, and even though she is skeptical about this genre, she was absolutely consumed by it as well. BUY IT!

Great book, interesting format
I love zombie books, and Day By Day Armageddon is the best one Ive read so far. Feels much more "real" than most other zombie books. It is written in a different format- all individual journal entrys. At first I thought it was a tad disjointed, but I really came to like it. The book does really leave off in the middle of the story (certainty waiting for a sequel) - but didn't leave me feeling dissatisfied as many books awaiting a sequel do.

Best Written Zombie Fiction Ever
DbDA is an outstanding read for anyone who enjoys zombie or end of the world scenarios. I perfer this over WWZ just bc of the feeling of despair you get and the amount of detail the main character puts into his journal. Its written as a journal and the narrator does a great job of reading it. Wow just Wow plus the squeal hits later this year.

A absolute must for all Zombie fans
I've had this book on my wish list for months, I always chose another and keep this on the back burner just in case I couldn't find something I liked the look of. So the day finally came last week and WOW. This book is one of the best I've listened too so far, so much so I almost finished it in one sitting. There was even a point one night why in bed I had to turn it off because it made me feel so unsettled and on edge. having said that I've immediately downloaded the 2nd book and can't wait to be re-submerged back into every desperate, horrifying, life threatening moment, and even at times laughing out loud?
Man I hope this guy is around when the apocalypse comes!!!!

I downloaded this as part of a my free Audible trial, but I was hooked from about 30 minutes in. Well written, the story descends into the chaos and horror when civilisation melts away beneath us. When I got to the end, I couldn't wait to get online to sign up to Audible as full member and grab the second book in the series (which is also gripping!).

Day by Day, what a good listen
What a listen! Only downloaded this story as I hadn't ordered a read to go on hols. A really good story and people will make comparisions with I am Legend. This is very different and I felt I was part of the charaters physi. His journey was realistic and delt with the emotion of an individualin such a situation, how the human 'form' will try to survive (even when dead)and how humans revert to various tribal and governmental organisations. I was disapointed when the story ended as I needed to know more. I am glad to see that there is a second book out, Beyond. Exile

A brilliantly realised book. Didnt think at first the diary layout would work but it did especially when narrated as it really is only one voice that describes the story. The diary format also kept the story moving at a very fast rate as a lot happens in this book.

The story is told in the format of a diary and works extremely well in the telling of this tale. From the first page you are engaged and soon lose yourself in the struggle to survive. What I really liked about this book is the minimal amount of time trying to explain the dead rising. There was a virus it spread and dead people started walking. Well that’s good enough for me.
Like all good Zombie survival stories the plot is more about the people alive then the shambling rotting dead. They play a vital part in the story but they are not the story. Day by Day Armageddon delivers a fast and action filled story that hits the ball out of the park.

I don't like giving poor reviews buut
I struggled to finish this book. A combination of the story and the narration made it a really hard book to complete for me

Good start
Starts good, then the lack of strong characters hurts it. Love the practical Zombie survival stuff

Monotone
The story was not bad I didn't like how he constantly struggles with having to do what's necessary. And the person who narrated was monotone and felt like he was just reading off a script
