I love the duality of the story which leaves the reader questioning everything.

The dark king is either a menace from the past or the savior of the present. Or is he? Every time we get a handle on what's going on, the author hints at the opposite conclusion. Can't wait for the finish.

I enjoyed this for the fantasy, the magic, the romance, the characters. just lose yourself in the other worldly presence of Stewards, Lions, and shadows.

I'm so glad this isn't the last book!

I ended this book with such frustration because I didn't know it was part of a trilogy. I saw there were only 2 books in the series to purchase on here and thought this would be a great next read because I fell in love with Pacat after listening to The Captive Prince series! However, this book ended and I was left NEEDING so much more! I'm happy I came to read the reviews to learn there's another book coming. I cannot wait to read it. I NEED it! This story and narration are so captivating and provide such an escape, it becomes easy to get lost in the tale, the landscape, the characters and the vocal presentation of it all!

This series is so perfectly angsty. Can't wait for more. If you like the emotionally tortured protagonist this is for you.

Great character development. Riveting story, unpredictable twists. Great imagery. Overall a great read, the voices and narration are also masterfully done.
