Publisher's Summary

From the USA Today best-selling author Ryan Schow comes a special two-book edition containing both The Last Light of Day and Dark Days of the After. With 120+ reviews for the separate books and a combined 4.9 star review, this powerful new set kicks off what is being called “the most important post-apocalyptic series available now"!

The apocalypse is coming, which means the end is near...

In the near future, the constitution is outlawed, the government is ceremonial at best, and the country is about to lose her name. No one knows how this happened or why America prostrated herself to the kind of foreign forces who would impose obedience through compliance.

Resistors call the occupation “creeping death”. Those countries grabbing at the reins of power see it for what it is - a full-scale invasion.

Logan Cahill is part of the underground effort to reclaim America, but when Skylar Madigan directs him to a cryptic message in the world's largest server room leading to a doomsday clock, everything changes. He now knows the enemies, the weapons, and the time of America’s death, right down to the minute.

If he wants to survive the apocalypse, he and Skylar have to bug out before all hell breaks loose. This won’t be easy, considering the surveillance grid in place or the armed lockdown of all major cities.

Dark Days of the After series is an intense new tale of strength, survival, and patriotism that puts ordinary citizens on the front line of a domestic conflict that was never supposed to happen - one that will either unify the country or break her for good.

Depends on what you like

If non-stop violence, sex and death is your thing and you don’t mind buying multiple books to find out what happens... this book is for you. Not my thing.

The narration was fantastic, brought strong characters to life and really impressed me. can't wait to start the next book. I hope this becomes a very long series. you get an A.

excellent freakin' book!

This was a great new take on how it may be in a horrible new PA world. I definitely recommend this series by one of my new favorite authors in this genre. I'm absolutely hooked.

Also, Kevin Pierce always makes the best stories even better.

Needs Work

Interesting plot, but female characters are more like male characters with boobs. the main character is interesting and likeable. the plot is definitely interesting and hits its mark, but I think some stuff is just over the top, like his attitude changing and the emotionless cardboard cutouts of annoying women in the book.

Lots of action! Characters are likable and free to break from the expectation. Looking forward to more from both Ryan and Kevin

Logan is me

Logan is the reason I love this book series, just tired of being pushed.

Excellent

Wow. This book is amazing (special edition prequel and book 1). Ryan Schow has upped his game to a whole new level. I have to say I think this is one of my new favorite series. No doubt this is due to how closely what he's writing about mirrors what's going on in our society. As we fall ever so quickly into a socialist/ communist society, one can see what happens in this book happening here. By going this direction, and away from the EMP survival series (nothing wrong with that at all), he's upping his game. He's talking about an invasion, and America as a totalitarian communist state. This is very 1984, with surveillance at every turn. So with this, anyone in resistance to the state is an enemy and shot on spot. He even references America as it was in 2019...so it's getting REAL.

Logan is the central character, one who starts out as unwilling participant to the resistance to one actively involved. There are endless possibilities. Also kudos to Ryan for keeping the language clean and keeping the focus on the story. All in all, this is most impressive, and my respect for Ryan Schow just shot through the roof.

Kevin Pierce knocks your socks off. Without him, you don't have the urgency in the story. He's great when paired with Schow, but never have the two been paired better than here. This is the best of the best.

Another great story

I am really looking forward to the next one! I wasn’t sure I would like this one at first, I didn’t like the characters but they evolved and I enjoyed going along for the ride.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. The tension built up nicely in the second book till I couldn't stop listening. I'm looking forward to book 2.
