Publisher's Summary

Everything in Hazel's perfect life is going according to plan. Every moment is accounted for. But she's in for a surprise. When her best friend and roommate takes ill, Jenny begs Hazel to fill in for her on a trip to South Georgia. But life on a horse ranch in her Jimmy Choos isn't exactly what Hazel had in mind for her summer break.

When Dalton Sullivan takes a spill from a bronc at the last rodeo of the season, his life changes forever. Uncertain about his future, his fortunes take another turn when Grandpa Joe bequeaths him a dilapidated horse ranch in his will. Dalton's plans to refurbish the place and turn it into a working ranch again are interrupted when a beautiful woman shows up pretending to be someone she's not.

Even though Dalton knows Hazel's hiding the truth, there's something about her that makes him want to change his solitary ways. But will he be able to convince her to do the same before their time together runs out?

Great Read

Dalton: Cowboys and Debutantes Book Two by Vivi Holt was a great read. Hazel is acting as a vet as a favor to her friend. She meets Dalton when he takes over the family farm that his grandfather passed down to him. I loved reading Hazel and Dalton's story.

Sweet Historical Western Romance

This book is part of The Cowboys and Debutantes Series. This is a short and sweet historical Western romance. This heartwarming short story is well written and the scenery well described. I love the story of Dalton and Hazel and I love their HEA. The narrator has a great voice for a Western Romance, easy to listen. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Hazel and Dalton

I so enjoyed listening to this sweet love story. I loved the way Vivi Holt painted pictures in my mind with her words, I could see the pasture and feel the heat. I had no expectations at the start of this book, not having listened to or even read much of Vivi Holt's work, I only discovered her books very recently. But from the very beginning with the dramatic start to this book to the very end I found myself resenting when I had to stop listening.

The two main characters, Hazel and Dalton, are total opposites at the start of the book, she being a total City Girl and he a Country Boy when they meet they both make assumptions, which prove to be wrong, about each other. Hazel is at Dalton's Cottontree Horse Ranch under false pretenses. He thinks she's a vet who is there to keep an eye on a valuable mare but the vet in question is Hazel's best friend who has just had surgery.

As they spend time together they begin to see beyond the surface and when nature throws them a curve ball they are brought closer together and deeper feelings develop. But can a relationship which started out as a lie grow into something more? Can Hazel give up everything she has worked for, would she even consider it, to be with Dalton?

In the book, we also get to meet Dalton's two brothers when they come to help out at the ranch. Each of them, I feel, has a story to tell and maybe Vivi will write one for them. We also find out what drives both Hazel and Dalton. I really wanted this relationship to work and was so happy with the way everything worked out.

The book is narrated by Dawson McBride and I admit at the very start I thought his voice a little gruff but as the story progressed I enjoyed the way he narrated and the depth of feeling he put into the characters.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and this review is written voluntarily.

Dalton

If you’re looking for a sweet, clean romance with a happily ever after, Dalton is a great choice! Vivi Holt has written a lovely story where two people from different worlds, a cowboy and a concert violinist, are brought together in an unexpected way, and things just progress from there.

Dawson McBride did a fantastic job with the narration. His gravelly voice was perfect for Dalton!

A sweet, clean, contemporary Western romance

Dalton is a sweet, clean, contemporary Western romance between a cowboy and a big city violinist. The situation is a little silly and the speed at which things progress and characters adapt stretches believability a little, but overall it is a pleasant book to read or listen to.

The narrator is a bit gruff for my taste, and he doesn't do female voices, but he's a good storyteller, and I got use to his voice.

I received a complementary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Sweet Cowboy Romance!

What's better the a Cowboy Romance? A clean Cowboy romance! I have to admit that when I first started listening I wasn't sure that I was going to like the narrator, but he grew on me quickly and in the end I wouldn't have wanted anyone one else to narrate it. Anyone who likes a clean romance with a modern cowboy theme will enjoy this one.
